You'll notice the tech states no vibration with driveshaft removed. ;)

I'm definitely no mechanic but wouldn't that mean that it is coming from the rear than?

He would have had to drive it in 4wd which means the front was locked in and you don't have the viscous "grab" that I mentioned previously

That makes sense. Should take out front driveshaft and test drive.

Quick trick is to run a long zip tie through the front driveshaft yoke and through the frame. This will keep shaft from spinning in 2wd.

My truck is at the dealer for this very same issue. Just spoke with the service manager. He didn't saying anything about Toyota talking about new leaf springs? I was told they took off the drive shaft  they drove it and the vib's were still there. Now "Toyota" tells them to replace the drum brakes! :rofl:This is f n ridiculous! I told them it does it when not even applying the breaks :annoyed: the leaf springs sounds like it could be the problem. I've felt from the beginning that it's a drive shaft angle problem.

I was really expecting a brake issue myself.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? So you think it could be the brakes??

I have had warped rotors on a couple of vehicles years ago. I thought it seemed similar to that. But if I remember correctly, I think in that situation I had the shudder at all speeds while braking.

Lot of amateurs and rumor mongers here cloud technical expert advice, it's easier to start a fear rumor tread and having everyone believe that than to tell it like it is . But it's fun when the rumor dies out eventually or hits the brick wall and it breaks the monotony too lolo!

Sounds to me like a shot in the dark b/s fix, as it fails to explain why all of them don't have the problem in the first place. Also I believe some folks have gotten the rumble fixed by turning their brake rotors, but I supposed it might be a different issue, we shall see.
But In the end, I hope it accidentally works somehow

    Cheers!

I admit it seems strange to me also. Not what I was expecting to be told when they called me.

I may have duplicate the rumble strip problem by applying the E-brake while coming to a stop. Having my thumb on the bottom and pulling the handle up. Not locking rear brakes. Has anyone try this yet ?

If you are able to duplicate the issue then you may have nailed in your case. But it maybe a different story for a tech if he can't fix the issue after spending a couple labor hrs on it. If its not a TSB approved repair from the factory, the service S/A is going to have to pencil wip the RO so the dealer and the tech can get paid by the factory.

    Cheers!

I think a lot of different issues are getting lumped into the same category.

Likewise. I have the same shudder when coming to a stop (25mph to 0).
