255/85/16 on a 3rd gen

I saw one guy running these but I can't find where. Anyone else running these. I noticed its only really mud terrain tires not all terrain.

Do you need a lift to run these and how much? With the right offset these skinny tires should fill in the wheel well pretty good without rubbing right?

Also, I don't really want mud terrain tires, because my experience is they aren't that good in snow and ice. Am I mistaken? Can you get them siped to be better in ice?

Same size as 255/80-17. They will rub if you stuff the suspension. Way too big for stock suspension as far as looks go

Why didn't you mount the spare in the stock spot. You only need to clearance (with a BFH) the driver side alignment tab.

Is the big horn "d" rated? As in 8 ply??

 

How are those bighorns ? Noisy?

 

I have Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX in 255 85 16 on the trd fakebeadlocks on the TRDOR. Have not experienced any rubbing *yet* on stock suspension but have only been on some modest dirt roads.

 

E rated I think. I wouldn't run them on the street. Pretty cheesy. Just bought it due to the size and it's cheap. I needed a 33" spare

Edit: i guess it is d rated. But still pretty heavy and stiff

 

Quite, compared to other muds. Have BFG's on my rubicon. Maxxis are siped, which might make them quiter. Good tires.

Not yet. Its an MT, so I don't expect impressive performance in wet snow.
