How much did you spend on that?
I ask because I keep seeing the RPR 20" .308 or 24" 6.5Creed on CDNN emails for about 1299.

    Go to sportsmansguide.com
Order a box of 50 for all the different 22LR you want to try.
    See what your gun likes.

Would you guys trade a G26gen 4 with 3 mags, night sights, extended slide release and 2 holsters with less than 1k rounds through it for a Weatherby Vanguard Synthetic series 2 in .300 Win Mag?

The rifle has never been shot (NIB) and is just the rifle, no glass or anything.

    No.
Not that the Weatherby's a bad gun, but I don't have any need for a shoulder-raping 300 Win Mag and even if I did I don't think it's worth the Glock. That Weatherby usually retails for what, $500?

Personally I wouldn't, but I have no use for a 300win rifle. If you were looking to get one and have a few handguns similar to a g26, then I'd go for it.

I would, loaded with the 208 Amax the 3Win hits like a freight train down range. I'd change the barrel out for a target straight taper throw a Nightforce on it and drop it in a McMillian stock, then shoot the rifling out of it.

There is a GEN 1 and Gen 2 version of the RPR the original should be right around $980 and the gen 2 are retelling at $1200. I am probably one of the rare ones that got a Gen 2 for the GEN 1 price . And the pricing seemed to be the same no matter which caliber you picked. To answer your question, yes they are cheaper in the stores

Its a tough decision. I won't be able to buy an optic for it for quite a while and I don't really know how often I would take it out. I don't have any long rifles like that though so it would fill an empty spot in my collection. I don't want to spend too long thinking about it though either.

On another note I'd much rather trade the G26 for a G19. I really miss mine.

Do you do much hunting over 500 yards or do a lot of buffalo/elk/moose?

If not 300win is kinda unnecessary.

None so far. Sounds like I should hold off, it sure would be cool to be able to go to the range and go to the section that goes out past 100 yds though lol

    Inside 500 yards I'd take .308

By saturday all of my uppers and rifles should have some type of optic.
Ordered a Holosun red dot for my 7.5" SBR, the cheap red dot currently on that will go to either my 16" or 11.5" uppers.
The vortex scope that I ordered for my .308 will be arriving tuesday so the nikon that is currently on it will be going on my 16" 6.8 SPC upper, and the MBUS currently on that upper will go to the upper that doesnt get the red dot.

You should stick with a better all-around cartridge if you don't have many long guns. 308 or 30-06 would be a better choice. Both can reach out and touch something well beyond 500 yards with some practice, while still carrying plenty of energy. They'll both take pretty much any game you're likely to find in North America, they're both cheaper to shoot than a 300 Win Mag (so you'll be able to practice more), ammo is more plentiful, and they're both considerably easier on your shoulder.

    This^^
You're also more likely to develop a flinch by shooting 300 mag vs a lighter caliber if you're not an avid rifle shooter.
