Just ran down to NAPA and saw that NAPA brand full synthetic is on sale (all weights) for $2.99/Quart for the entire month of August. I've seen that some run this and it can easily protect for 5000 mile (maybe more) OCI's. I picked up a case and may run it and get it tested.

Sorry for the sideways pic...it was vertical and I can't seem to figure out why it's showing this way.

From what I read awhile back on bobistheoilguy this seems to be the same valvevoline synthetic.

It's made by Valvoline, yes (says so right on the bottle). But it's my understanding that it has a slightly different additive package. I could be wrong.

Under most driving conditions full synthetic should be good for closer to 10k miles.

This... Plus if you watch, you can catch Mobile1 with rebates for far cheaper. I'm still sitting on a few gallons.

Run your oil for the mileage/time you're comfortable with, get a free oil sample kit, and pay $28 to have it analyzed at http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

Chances are you'll see you can extend your oil change intervals and save a lot of money in the future. Just need to use common sense, or retest, and adjust intervals a little if driving habits change.

Yep.... I personally have never had any oil "tested" but change mine when it starts to discolour. Around 8,500-10,000 miles for me, then I run it through my lawnmower for a season or so.
