Where to Live in AZ?

    I'm considering a move to AZ and would like to live somewhere near Phoenix. Does anyone know what areas are good? I have small children so I'd prefer a suburb. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

    Im gonna throw a vote in for the East valley area. Lots of parks, lakes, shopping. Close to 3 freeways, off road trails, and golf courses. :)

    OK, I've got a vote for the north and the east. Is it safe to assume that south and west Phoenix are no good?

    Its spotty. I think the East valley lifestyle is more comunity oriented, where as the north side is more of a quiet "Keep to yourself" type neigborhood. I have lived on the West side before, and found alot more crime in that location. How it is now, Im unsure, as I moved from there, and havent looked back.

    I have a 4 & 8 year old and live in Central Phoenix. It all depends on your neighborhood. Even our nicest suburbs have crime. My friend lived in Phoenix for 10 years with now problems. A week after he moved to Scottsdale his home was broken into and cleaned out.

    One thing I can suggest is that if you are planning on sending your kids to public schools then you probably want to stay out of Phoenix. Mine go to a Catholic school about 100 yards from the house. It isn't cheap but it is worth every penny when you look at the alternative. If you need a good realtor in the area let me know. My father -in-law does Phoenix and all the burbs. Real easy guy to work with.

    Forgive me.

    Central Phoenix is some of THE BEST neighborhoods in the state! I forgot about that location....THe historic district, the Bridle path....Phoenix Mountain Park. Lots of stuff to do in that area, and nicely centrally located.
