Some under the skin 2009 model new features I know there is already a 2009 thread but that seems to just included cosmetic new features if a mod wants to blend this to that one go head. This information was gathered from (TIS) Toyota Technical System.

Just a few interesting ones of the 30 Toyota claims
    1. New Colors
    1G3 Gray Metallic
    3R3 Red Mica Metallic
    4T3 Bronze Mica Metallic
    6T8 Dark Green Mica Metallic
    2. A chrome plated emblem has been added ti the urethane steering wheel
    3. The fuel caps on both the 2TR-FE and the 1GR-FE engine has been
changed from the quick turn type to the screw type.
    4. 1GR-FE engine the shape of the exhaust manifold branch section has been
optimized there by reducing noise and vibration.
(branch section is the part that connects to the head)
    5. Differential
LSD rear differential has been discontinued.
A low viscosity oil (75W-85) is used front and rear differentials to
    improve the fuel efficiency.
    6. Suspension
The shape and strength of the rubber rear spring bumper used on the 4WD
and PreRunner models have optimized to improve riding comfort.
    7. Tire Pressure Warning System
The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter has been discontinued
    on the spare tire.
    8. Frame
Some of the frame structures such as frame side rails and cross
members have been changed to achieve higher collision safety
    performance.
    9. Seat
As use of the separate seat has been discontinued on Regular Cab,
    only bench seat is available.
Active headrest have been provided as standard on Access Cab and
    Double Cab.
    10. Clock Assembly
The clock display type has been changed from VFD (vacuum fluorescent
Display) to LCD ( Liquid Crystal Display)
    :)

Nice write up! Thanks....I just got the printout for the 09 I ordered and going over the numbers and there wasnt that much change in price either for the now standard options. Now I am crunching numbers since my trade has lost so much value due to fuel prices.....plan B time

thanks. That's foolish that they took away the spare tire pressure monitor. And what's up with the limited slip?

I'd like to get my hands on some of those bump stops.

Is auto LSD going to help you with some light off-roading? I don't think so.

Somebody drops a bomb about clocks overheating (or something like that) and it costs $1000 to fix, then the post disappears. WTF is up with that?
