Solar panel guaranteed delivery of today. Items are always delivered to the front office. Today they decided to only try and deliver to my apartment and didn't deliver it. Still trying to figure out why i only have bad luck. I called and had them reattempt delivery, but not holding my breath.

I've heard the tank is a pain in the ass to pull, but maybe it would be worth it to do some boxing as well as the plating. Like I said, I'm all about overbuilding things, especially since I'll be going out to the hills solo for the most part.

 

When I boxed my frame I only went to the crossmember that holds the tank on. That crossmember supports the channel here in the frame and keeps it square so there is plenty of strength there. Most LT guys only box it to there and run their trucks hard with no issues. Just my .02

Boxing in the frame is probably not necessary for most of us, but what's the saying? Overkill never fails. Just welding the plates did add noticeable stiffness, so it's not really lost effort for a little material and time.

Plus it adds time before rust takes your frame out. My thinking was that when boxing things in you have to expose steel that may never be as well coated as even the crappy factory paint being inside the boxed section. At least I could get at the paint that burned off the back to inspect and paint once in a while. So adding the internal plating was for down the road when the frame needed repairs anyway, you know?
