Inside the cab, the OBD2 port is not connecting to my Scanguage2. Called Scanguage up, and they shipped a brand new one over. Plugged the new one in, nada, still didn't even turn on.

    Any suggestions?

EDIT: turned out to be the cable I bought off Amazon. Bought one from scanguage and it works perfectly now. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

My truck has an OBD fuse. If you have one, check it.

Dirty corroded connection it seems to happen quite often.

damaged rodent chewed wires it does happen.

I always need to make sure mine works before inspection.

After googling the problem (which I should've done first) it seems that is the first suggestion to pop up.

I'll check it in the morning. Thank you.

Went under and checked. Not a dirty connection, wiped it off a billion times to check. Wires seem fine.

The only thing I got from multiple sources, was to reset the ecu/disconnect the battery. Even then, all of them reported back saying that this didn't help.

I'll give it a try, but if this doesn't work, I'm always open for more suggestions.

Mine looks fine to the naked eye I use Electrical cleaner.

The hard part is things check out with the Meter but it still would not connect till cleaned.

If your sure the plug is good the scan gauge is good no damage to the wire harness only one thing Left.

    Look at the ECM

    UltraGauge  j/k
If it's not even turning on and the fuse is good you might want to start chasing wires. Something is probably disconnected somewhere. You also might want to check for power at the OBD port. Not sure which pin number.

Any specific electrical cleaner you recommend?

Also, where is the ECM? What does it look like? What am I looking for besides loose wires?

    Not enough...
I had ScanGauge go blank on me when my battery died and I had the truck jumped. Had to re-connect to bring it back to life.
Make sure your cable is not damaged? Solid contact on both ends? Make sure the new fuse is not blown? Go to an AutoParts store or a Smog check place and ask to use their reader, to rule out dead ScanGauge? Do you get any power on the ODB port? What about the ethernet connector that plugs into the ScanGauge?

    -Cable is brand new.
-Solid contact and both ends completely connected/ not loose.
    -I'll check the fuse again.
-Not a dead Scangauge, because they just sent this brand new one.
-I'll have to buy a little electrical test kit in order to test out if I'm getting power from the port and the connectors themselves.
