Off topic, but since you mentioned school: Have you looked at the international business requirements at Foster? F that dude. I was KINDA interested until I saw... "CISB requires demonstrated experience functioning in an environment where track-related language is spoken. This may be satisfied by ten weeks of approved foreign study or a foreign internship after completing at least two years of language study or achieving comparable linguistic proficiency. Other experiences may be substituted for this requirement by approval from your track adviser. Foreign travel as a tourist or foreign study during high school does not qualify."

Is that a requirement at Bothell too?

Bothell doesn't have international business, but can't you just take one quarter of a foreign language and it'll count? That's 10 weeks or foreign study

Off exit 38, there is a FS road that isn't horrible but it gets damn narrow. Head to the end and turn right to FS 9020. After you get up past Iron Horse trail (easy easy easy), there is a spot you can turn right and head up another trail, 9021. It's narrow, some obstacles and then the trail maintenance is pretty low. Gets narrow because the bushes aren't maintained. So, if you don't mind some scrapes down the side...Nothing a stock suspension can't handle and definitely not like what most of y'all do, but not your normal groomed FS road. There are a few roads up there, it's just getting finding them and finding where things go. FS 9020 now only goes a little past the intersection of the McLellan Butte trail but a year ago went further back.

    As for the lake - it's a don't go place. Can't fish, can't swim. So...no. That's a FAIL.

Lookin' down at I-90 (exit 38 - Olallie State Park vicinity)

Those of you into hiking and familiar with WeWa, I've been hitting trails nearly every weekend this summer and I'm running out of ones on my to-do list. Sadly, no time for camping at this point, just in-and-out day hikes, 8-12 miles, 2500-4500 ft gain.

Given the hot weather, I'd love to do some hikes up to mountain lakes. I've done several that were amazing, but a bit too crowded on the weekend for my liking (IE: Lake Serene, Rachel Lake, the Ramparts). Some that I'm entertaining: Pratt Lake (did it 13 years ago and don't really remember much), Surprise/Glacier Lakes, Lake Ingalls, Colchuck Lake.

Any suggestions for amazing hikes to mountain lakes NOT engulfed with people?

Ive done Surprise/Glacier Lakes. Nice lakes. I ended up a bit early in the season (late July) and there was still snow on the ground. But it wasnt crowded when I went.

It was an awesome place. I actually hiked in from the Stevens Pass Ski Area and hiked the PCT to the lake. I had planned on going to Snoqualmie Pass but ended up being to much snow. I stayed at Glacier Lake and the hiking out to US 2 the following morning.

It was foggy and chilly when i was there (maybe 40 degrees) but still nice and relaxing. When i was there it was me and one other group. They were camped quite a ways from me though.

And when i went this is why i cut my trip short lol. Lots and lots of trees and snow over the trail still.

    Are floor mats a mod?
Started out as 3" in front, 1.5 in rear, no idea now, prob 2.5 or so in front. Pro comp es 9000/6000 shocks, fronts 2" longer. Rear AAL, front 700# coils. About Maybe35-40k miles? Mostly freeway, but a fair bit of off road.
Price for NW bros is... I dunno, beer? Some cool morale patches? A new snatch block, since I apparently left one on a trail somewhere? BTW, it pays to paint your shackles and block some bright color!

How far did you go? Did you go past the washed out culvert? I haven't been up there in a few years. It was overgrown then.

Yeah. Past the washed out culvert another couple of miles until I could turn around. Overgrown and like fingernails on the chalk board. I would've kept going but it was just going to be a scratch fest, more than it already was.

I used to go up that road years and years ago. The usfs roads in that area have been shrinking and shrinking every year due to lack of maintenance. Or decommissioned and repurposed as a hiking trail.

Hmm... Would be am exceptionally cheap setup to start with before going on and spending on a new setup. Especially if it's only temporary and gauge for future setup options.

Okay. This didn't seem to be decommissioned...yet and not too far gone for some maintenance. 9020 to get to this trail was completely overhauled, cleared and graded this spring. C'mon USFS...this trail should get some stunning views and even go back to the lake back there, even if that's closed for use. Would still be nice and not too far out of town.

Just put together a DIY Maxtrax mount today and installed on the front rail. Now I just need to mount the shovel on the bedside opposite the Hi-Lift.

Just got it all wrapped up! First trip?? Gas station of course. Felt like a little kid; driving down the road with the biggest smile on my face.
