much cheaper to do it yourself. I did mine a few days ago and it ran me less than 200 and some time.

I miss mountains. And camping, only reason to go around here is to drink beer around the fire.

Oh I know, but there's more then just green green green. I mean it is pretty here, but just not nearly as beautiful as the mountains. And all the offroading is either graded roads or ohv parks., no actual exploring.

How much do those weigh? Do you know the thickness of tubing that was used?

I've been wanting to fab up a set for fun to sell, but don't know the specs required for a set of quality sliders.

Any chance I can get a close up of the welds? I'm pretty sure these were TIG welded, but wanted to verify.

Most seem to be .120 and MIG, tig would be a waste.

Looking at the welds, I'm almost 100% sure they are mig. And the fine film of dust left behind suggests that as well. They are 1.75" x .120 HREW tubing (DOM seemed overkill for the task) The sliders together weigh 82lbs. I'd take another pic but I'm not where I can at the moment. Lemme zoom and enhance for ya...

They're for sure MIG from the first pic.

Why are the legs not welded on though?

They don't come welded on so you can clock them to whatever degree you want. They come with all gussets, legs, and scab plates though. Good quality stuff for sure

I'm thinking they are MIG welded as well, but they used dual shield welding wire.

The large deposit of welding media on the joints and lack of "stack of dimes" type profile that is common with just straight mig welding.

That's what I was thinking, looks exactly like the dual shield I run but smaller scale.

Might have been but I see no reason for them to run dual.

It works great for production welding. It is a very fast way to get good penetration on thicker iron. Its pretty commonly used where speed = money.

If the welder is skilled and does not ever stop motion when laying a bead, the shop makes more money.
