I'm not sure about your CV boot, but I just had the same thing happen to my heat shield. I used a flat head screwdriver to snap the rusted bolts and rusted rear clamp off. I bought some new nuts/bolts and a hose clamp from the hardware store to fix it.

 

Sweet. Well I'll go try that then. Hopefully it's as easy as it sounds.

 

It was a pain in the ass to get the new hose clamp on, but everything else was a breeze. I also used the opportunity to drill an extra hole in the lower shield to help with water drainage.

 

Just finished it. I wish I would've thought of drilling it out. I had to use two hose clamps since I didn't have a big enough one and yeah that was a pain. I didn't realize it would be so easy to break the bolts off with a screwdriver. Thanks for the info.

Well, that's a good segway into my introduction! I live closeby in the Manchester Neighborhood. Bought my house awhile back when I realized buying a house in the sections of the East End I was interested was not going to happen. Best decision i've ever made!

@16TacomaSport grill looks good blacked out. Too bad toyota doesn't offer it as an option.

 

TacoBurg, what's your Tacoma look like? I've seen a few new trucks driving around lately.

 

thanks. Only takes like 20min to dip it. But I think I am going to be removing the dip and spraying it with proper black paint. I had to fix the part of it yesterday seems I hit a big hard enough when i clean the big off it took a small spot of the dip with it.

Id be more inclined to if it was somewhere less a PITA to get around. Like more a restaurant in monroeville, greensburg, pleasent hills. So can relax in parking lot to and see everyones trucks and not deal with as much crowds

 

We park in the parking garage down there that's usually pretty empty. It's on Sunday early so it' won't be crowded. Meeting at the GetGo on East Carson between 12-12:30 then heading over.

 

Other than the white car we were the only vehicles on this half of the parking level. It's empty and quiet on sundays.

We'll be there for a while so come on down. Not sure what's going on afterwards. We went down to the trails down under the 79 bridge by Neville Island and had some fun.

 

I am at church until 12:30 or 1:00 getting the recordings cleaned up and uploaded. What are ya all up to mid afternoon?

 

Not sure, stop down after church, we'll still be there.

 

Update, meeting at 1pm. If you're on your way down some of us will be there at12:30 and just hang out until around 1pm for everyone else.

 

Running way behind, I might have to try it again another day. I will be tied up for another hour or so......
