Seems like I've seen more bears this year than the last few combined. I haven't seen a lion yet, but we were camping a few weeks ago and my dads little dog ran off. We went looking for it and had lion tracks in our tracks. Although I don't have proof, we both instantly knew where the dog was. A predator call and stuffed animal on a string works good. Dude you're getting a rally car, you can go pretty much anywhere you want in Oregon. Really, most forest roads are smooth enough for grandmas buick.

Where we stayed, I only saw deer and smaller animals. The people that we stayed with said there were bears and mountain lions in the area, but not many.

Yeah...haha! The Lancer was base model AF.

They are predators, you may not have seen any but for sure some saw you. I just have hunting on the brain right now. I'm stuck in Utah this week for work, but I'm only four working days away from a 3 week Oregon hunting trip! Utah weirds me out man. Everyone is too polite, there are no strip clubs or casinos, nobody smokes or chews, and mormon beer is like 3% ABV "near beer". Something isn't right about this place. Stepford wives feelin'.

    Lol...

I don't think I'd like Utah too much.

There were only a few things I suggested as edits and he made them. Mostly little bugs and part-ordering issues (i.e. no male connectors were listed for the accessory connectors).

The only major "issue" I noted was the length of wire running into the cab from the box.

I would make that section at least 6" longer. 12" longer would allow you to re-route the cable along the headliner easier.

Gotcha, good to hear it works well then. My switches will be under the radio so I was already assuming I would be doing a different length of wires for that part.

Its a really, really nice tutorial. Definitely helped me a ton just for what to order let alone how to put it all together.

Ah. Yeah. Your wire lengths will definitely be different. My switches are in my overhead console.

I still have the parts to build another box.

We were going to sell them, but making them by hand at a high-quality level would take too long.

Sometime around 1996 the westsiders passed initiatives making it illegal to hunt cougars with dogs and bears with bait. That worked out really well for the King and Pierce county city bound morons who made it happen but not for those of us actually living in cougar and bear country. Negative human and pet encounters with cougars soon went way up. Still no fatalities that I am aware of but most don't let our kids play freely in the woods completely unsupervised anymore. Like the Sierras in California its only a matter of time until it goes horribly wrong. Bear numbers are up too but negative human/pet encounters are probably unchanged. Black bears are just too mild mannered to really cause any real danger. Bears getting into your stuff is much more common now. The east side mountains have airways been full of both but now its silly how many are around. Elk calf recruitment seems to be a real east side problem (compounded by habitat loss) though and both pet and livestock owners are having more issues. You can easily find bears just about anywhere if you want to. Even if you don't want to. Cougars are very shy and still seldom seen (seen much more often than historically though) but they are definitely there and their tracks are pretty easy to find. And then there is the rapidly expanding east side wolf population.......

    Thanks! Gotcha

Other than what I've read and seen on the interweb, I have really no hands on experience with that type of wildlife.

I've only been to the States twice.

    Heavily depends on traffic.

4 hours is a pretty decent time.

If you hit traffic in Portland... Expect to add about an hour.
