That's pretty awesome. I would be terrified I would bore it out just off a millimeter or two haha

I used a router, should have hopefully prevented that from happening, I think it's definitely precise enough for wheels

How is it remotely possible that no one carries the passenger side diff seal?? Most places have the drivers side seal. Guess I need to order several and keep my own stock.

Hunter - you have 887's up front? Maybe I should try my wheel/tire combo on your truck before I commit. And your UCA's are TC?

OK guys, my truck is evolving. Looking for a balance in-between a very capable off-road machine and a comfortable DD, and long distance traveller.

So SAS, massive plate bumpers, 35" tires or bigger are out!!!

Dual battery, 12v fridge, etc are in!

    Continue to need input/opinions, etc.

This is my September front suspension project:

From: 884x's, Bilstein 5100's, Stock UCA's, new OEM brake lines (from frame replacement)
To: 887x's, same Bilstein 5100's, Aftermarket UCA's, need new extended brake lines?

I narrowed down my ball joint UCA choices to:
    Camburg, JBA and TC.

Total additional weight up front is: 250 lbs
Dual Battery: 55 lb Optima Aux
Mobtown front recovery bar: 55 lbs
    Portable winch: 85 lbs
    Skids: 55 lbs

    Tires: ST Maxx: 255-85/R16

    Winter Rear suspension project:

From: Headstrong 3-leaf AAL's on new OEM TSB rear leafs (new from frame replacement last year), Bilstein 5100's, new OEM brake lines (from frame replacement)
To: Dakar full leaf pack, with Dakar AAL or AllPro Standard or Expo Leaf pack, Bilstein 5100 B110 shocks (for more extension), u-bolt flip, bump stops, Shackle flip?, need new extended brake lines?

Rear weight is 200 lbs daily, 500- 700 pounds loaded.

I have 884x's as well. So we have a similar setup.

I'm not doing anything to it unless it rubs.

With the added height from the shackle flip, the longer B110's limiting up travel, and the already chopped bed sides, I really don't think I'll rub on the bumper.

I just turned my cut and ended at the rear bumper. The factory opening kinda squares off anyway, so I think it'll look OK.

Honestly, I'm caring less and less about looks... As long as it doesn't rub, it's staying as is

No need for extended brake lines n the front. Rear lines are probably needed if you do the shackle flip with those Billies.
Bumps stops are a good idea in the rear. I say go with the Dakars with the AAL, and maybe leave in both overloads for when you have 500#+ in the back. Shackle flip is probably not gong to make a huge difference for your use, but the cool factor is there.

Let's set a few things straight. There's No need for extended brake lines in the front unless you go with a true long travel kit. Nothing short of that changed the suspention geometry and the stock lines are made to move through the whole cycle.

Second unless your planning to spent your trucks entire life on pavement, lift has nothing to do with what tires will fit. No matter how high the front is lifted the suspention still has the same geometry. That mean that you add lift for bigger tires and as soon as you approach and obstacle and the suspention compresses that tire is going into the fender. It doesn't matter if you run 31's or 35's you can run stock suspention. Stock or lifted you still need to cut the same stuff to clear a larger tire if you plan on off-roading.

Lastly, I feel like there is some confusion about the shackle flip. Yes it can be used to add lift. Personally I set mine up to sit the same ride height as it was before the flip. The main reason of the flip is to change how the rear suspention works. It gives you a pretty significant amount more droop over the stock set up. Paired with aftermarket springs it's quite a noticable difference. This allows you to get more off camber or drive faster over whoops and still maintain traction. But by changing the geometry and gaining droop now you need longer shocks. But the problem with longer shocks is you need to change the upper mounts to be able to accommodate the longer shocks or use stock mounts and extend your bumpstops so you don't destroy them. Also you need longer rear brake lines at this point.

I'm not trying to come off as an ass I'm just seeing a lot of new names in here and there's a lot of complete BS floating around these forums as far as what mods do what (some of it from one of our own cough hunter cough:luvya: ). That's not saying you guys don't know that your doing but I'm just trying to pass along actual facts. Ask anyone who's been around a while, a lot of us have done a lot of mods twice instead of just doing it once the right way. It sucks and is a complete waste of time and money.

    With all my love,
    Wheelspinner

Thought you were talking about his front. He could cut the tube off and maybe wait til BPF is a really real thing and make a new tube.

There were no pics of the rear in his OP

All good info there. In regards to the shackle flip adding lift? I'm simply going on what the manufacturer states for my particular springs and shackle bracket location. 1-1.5" of added lift.

Admittedly, I need to do more homework on the subject prior to actually setting the position.

I'm hoping, with the angle of my Brute Force bumper, the 35's won't rub it. Nilly says I should be fine. He seems to really know his stuff, so let's hope he's right.

I was simply stating that with the B110's being longer, I won't have as much up travel. Droop should improve though. Then the bump stops... Nothing's easy is it?
