What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I have had to top off my overflow twice in the nine years I have had the truck. But it has never been more than a few ounces at one time. I probably have 3/4 of the gallon I bought left after topping off my truck and the wife's Camry several times.

As far as the rattle, check to make sure your skids are tight. Mine developed a rattle in the cat recently with 94.5k miles on it.

 

You may have to unplug it from the back and see if it will reset it.

If you can't get it fixed let me know I replaced my stereo less than a year ago and have my stock one sitting in my garage

 

Is this easy? Can I reach behind the head unit without taking out the entire thing?

 

Maybe unhook the battery to reset it?

 

Thanks bud! I'm not even a stereo system guy. I mainly listen to ESPN talk radio. The radio was actually still working but the screen was blank.

 

I had the battery unhooked less than a month ago when I replaced it. Bought a new OEM battery. The radio and presets still worked this morning but the screen was blank. I guess I'll get real serious is actual sound stopped working. Just annoying having a blank screen and the CD player not functioning.

 

You would have to have some really small hands to do that. It's alot easier to remove the head unit, plus it will save you alot of agravation and using alot of colorful 4 letter words by trying to do it with it installed.

The radio is stupid simple to remove, pop the ac controls out from below. 4 10mm hex bolts. Firm up and out tug. Done. I have a 2015 touch screen oem that i took out 3 weeks after i bought it, if your intrested.

I've seen the write up on switching to a 2012+ head unit in the 2005-11 model. I'd have to research a little because I am terrible at electrical and modifications to anything.
