Wd40 will work short term but I've found it enhances rust if you dont keep your stuff slathered in it 24/7. I've got 3 cans of fluid film I need to spray under the truck that I hear works pretty well

    enough to go over stuff
In my experiance if you get enough dirt in between the springs they become quiet. But this takes a lot of wheeling.

Special Filipino skeet apparently also works as a formidable leaf spring lubrication. @MJonaGS32 is fucking "point on" tonight. :cookiemonster:

I'll defer to Jason but I'm running the Dakars with an extra leaf. So far, no complaints. They squeak once and a while but not often.

Btw, was in NorCal for the pebble beach car show this weekend. What the hell is up with it being 50 degrees in August? Do you live in hell?

    ...too much shit to list.
The pucks work great for most street vehicles. Once shit gets in between the leafs and they start to deteriorate and everything goes to hell. After countless miles of dirt excursions, half of the Teflon sliders were broken or missing. On top of that the remaining pucks were pretty much worthless from gouges. The pucks are really intended for street trucks. The pucks leave a gap between the leafs, and with trucks that see a lot of dirt miles, the pucks cause more problems than they resolve. My leafs were coated with dirt, grease, sand, and god knows what else and made it impossible for the leafs to slide gracefully.

So...I broke down the leaf packs completely and removed the remaining pucks. Wire wheeled and sanded every single leaf, top and bottom. Radiused and chamfered both ends of every leaf. Followed up with drowning each leaf with a quick dry aerosol moly lube. It's way more labor intensive but to date they still slide like butter.

And the pile of shit that came off the leafs:

For the record...it's exactly the same process Deaver uses for those so inclined

Pic of leaf Springs awaiting install at Yodaman in Santa Rosa, seems most manufacturers use the isolators on most leafs, unlike OME dakars.. I'm going to add the moly spray you recommended, hopefully will make the pads last longer20160627_150002.jpg

Pebble beach is not a good indication of NorCal beach weather. It's always shit down there and just a bad time weather wise up here right now.

You used the moly spray on bare metal after sanding etc? Interesting... I see in the reviews for the spray that it dries like paint, some people use it for AR mags to restore the lubricating finish
