We're all a team out there. In the dunes, on the rocks, in mud, in snow. The great thing about the off road community is that most stop to help. Bravo to you guys that helped the stuck guy and to those that helped all of you whom also got stuck. Paying it forward is the only way.

Made it home, removed each tire, hit all nooks and crevices with LP air, greased components, and checked all studs and bolts for tightness. Ready for the next one. Those that went the 154 route, how was the fire? We took 101 the whole way home. 154 on the way up the los Padres fire looked raging.

    Thanks guys.

He went out in the worst of ways.

All of it hasn't really sunk in yet. Sort of preventing myself from feeling it at the moment.

Is what it is. I appreciate the words of support gentlemen.

Great video! Sorry I couldn't help with my truck, doctor's orders after I got my new clutch put in on Friday were to not do any towing or clutch-heavy work (even though I totally went against the latter on this trip, I underestimated how difficult wheeling in the sand can be).

I came back on 154 and you couldn't see much of anything where the fire was on Friday. It was just hazy smoke. Nothing dramatic like Friday.

One of the guys shot that with my phone. I think it was Kevin or Erick? Sorry, I suck with names... But you already knew that....RYAN

I was happy to participate. After Alex pulled me out the night before going up that steep climb, where I prematurely slowed down, and then pulling out that dune buggy while Denny and Mike tried to recover the RAM... I was itching to help out.

Looks like that dude made two critical mistakes that got him stuck. 1: he slowed down which is a knee jerk reaction when in a challenging situation. And 2: he likely turned his steering wheel left to right and right to left in hopes of grabbing traction when in reality all that does is restrict inertia. He shouldn't have tried to turn at all until reaching reasonable speed.

Definately a fun weekend with all you guys. Didn't get stuck anywhere near as much as I thought. Learned two things this trip, 2wds tacos stand very little chance out there & riding with @Mike likes Tacos is more fun than a barrel full of monkeys :D

Sorry to it hear it man, condolences to you & your family.

Not sure if you can tell in the video but he also barely has any tread on those tires, all rim. Believe he was aired down to 15 with zero sidewall flex :goingcrazy:
