Glad to help spread the word. I had a chuckle at the pic scrolling by his post on IG.

Disclaimer: I didn't read all 350 pages of this thread so please forgive me because I'm sure this question has been answered already but...

I am not into cutting my fenders all up yet so what other options are there to fit 35s with just a 3" lift? I don't have time to wheel the truck so it's just a DD right now. Just want 35s for looks at the moment. Maybe I'll do more with it later.

Is it possible to fit 35s with just a 3" lift if I'm only driving on roads? I don't mind chopping the body mount and welding a cover on, I did that with my FJ, cake. Spacers are fine if needed.

I don't mind doing some reading if someone wants to direct me to a thread of section of this thread with clear answers. Just don't have hours on end to read through 350 pages....sorry if it's a redundant question.

lol. I know it's frustrating, and I apologize. Honestly I wish I could sort through all the information myself instead of asking but I work night shift and I'm in nursing school, treasurer for my church with a wife, a puppy and a foster puppy so between sleep deprivation and life responsibilities I don't have enough time as it is.

If anyone could find the grace to give me a little help I would be ever so grateful. :)

Yeah you can fit 35's on a 3" lift. Lots of cutting and lots of using a BFH. Some even move the cab mount chop back some. If you're going with 35's just for looks well idk what to tell you....besides it could be a waste of time. If you're not looking to cut fenders/flares also this is the wrong thread to be in.

Just start reading backwards in this thread, you'll get the idea. You might want to look at a bracket lift in the 6" range

Well the title just mentioned fitting 35s w/o body lift. I didn't realize cutting fenders was the common way to do it until I started reading. Right now I just won't be doing much wheeling, just being honest. In the future things will be different and perhaps I'll be up to cutting the fenders to get the added functionality but right now I am about to need to buy tires and would rather just buy them once. I learned that on my FJ. Bought 305/70-17s and soon wished I had just done 35s. Don't want to make the same mistake here.

Cutting the body mount is no big deal, I did that on the FJ. Beating a pinch weld is no big deal. But cutting fenders and firewalls makes me nervous...surely that's understandable?

I think a 6" bracket lift is more than I am willing to tackle both in time and money right now. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate the genuine help.

Yeah it's understandable just letting you know though that there is to be cutting of your fender and flares. Not really sure about cutting the firewall...I know you need to "massage" it back some with a BFH

I read people doing that so the tires would tuck and have full articulation. Is all that necessary just for road driving though? Are you saying there's no way to fit 35's without all that cutting regardless of how you drive it?

Look into fiberglass for the front. I believe McNeill makes a set with minimal fare and rise that will accept the stock fender flares. Should allow you to clear. And the rear should be fine as is. I ran my 35's for a few months with the fenders not being fully cut, however I had to run it that way with the bottom corner by the cab mount trimmed, and the flares off to make it functional for daily driving.

Total sidebar but after cutting 2 1/2-3" out of my fenders and getting the bushwhacker style flares on and cut, I wish I went with 37's. Which will be my next move when I need tires in the future.

35's require extensive modification. There is no way around it.
If you're doing it just for looks then I believe you're doing it for the wrong reasons. But that's just my opinion.
The reason that most of us on here have done this is for the added ground clearance the larger tires afford for off-roading.
Like someone else posted if you want to put 35's on and not cut up a bunch of stuff you will still need to cut your crossmember and have a 6 inch drop bracket lift installed.

...but its a dick measuring contest or right of passage.

37s are the next big thing
    Or gears and lockers
    Or crawlbox
    Or LT
    Or solid axles

    ...it never ends

    :)

Sounds like he should go 285x75r17
To be exact (.5) in most tires difference from a 35.

Sure you get more width, but that is what brings the :sawzall::welder:

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
It is 100% possible to DD with minor trim and CMC. Aftermarket UCAs and as much positive caster as possible will help center the wheel. There are numerous factors that affect it all and not just lift will provide a simple answer. IIRC, spacers will exacerbate the need to trim and cut so I would advise against.

Great post above, I concur 100%. My dick isn't as big as everyone else since I am only running 315/75-16, but they were the right price and I love em.
