So if you don't mind me asking, how much did it all end up costing you? Did you buy a new sc?

another question for the all knowing 1st genners..anyone have a part number for the GM alternator people are swapping to?? my battery light keeps coming on so I'm thinking it's time. Might as well step up in power since the dual battery set up is next on my list. one day I'll get enough time to post some photos. I've been a busy dude, but here's a quick update. newly installed= Bilstiens all around with OME medium springs for lift up front & dakar leafs w/ greasable shackles in the rear. then the wheel got ripped off due to ball joint failure which led to, new ball joints 1 upper & both lowers. used OEM because stuffing the wheel under the truck is no bueno. only one upper because uniball uca's are inbound and the other upper was good. oh and a new cv shaft since the old one didn't want stretch to under the cab with the wheel and knuckle as it all came apart. then i threw some 33 10.50's under it. with the new suspension & tires she rides 100% better. oh and of course a pair of shift knobs, got the power inverter put in & wired and the CB all hooked up.

Threw a P0120 code. Throttle Position Sensor.

The intake needs a serious douching so I'm hoping a cleaning of the MAF, throttle body and IAC takes care of it.

Butt dyno definitely noticed a difference. Better pull, cool swoosh sound, and no longer thethe *tick* tick * tick* of the cracked stocker. It was a solid $150 spent [found on craigslist].

Truck runs smooth at idle, shifts real well, but as soon as I press the clutch it, it starts to whine. Does not do it all the time. Are these the signs of a throw out bearing going bad?

Is there a certain wiring harness that's better than others? (I joined the lightbar club) I have the switch already.

edit: sorry, I just read @quetzals post more closely and he says it starts to whine when the clutch is pressed, not before. Mine was doing it before and then went silent with the clutch pressed. Might be a bad throwout bearing but I'm leaning toward a cracked flywheel instead. Either way I bet it will be recommended to just replace the entire clutch assembly

100% bad throwout bearing. Mine chirped like crickets real bad but went silent with the clutch even lightly pressed. Ive heard that a whine is also a sign of either the TOB or a cracked flywheel. Either way, its best to just replace the entire clutch assembly since it all has to come out anyway. I went with a Comepetition Stage 2 clutch kit from URD, love it so far.

FWIW, I had my TOB chirping for a few months before I got around to doing it. Toyota told me it's basically a time bomb with no timer when it starts to go bad. Could continue to last another year or it could leave you stranded tomorrow.

I have that lovely tick tick as well. Sounds like a motorcycle going up hills, gotta replace mine, maybe next paycheck.
