I'd say somewhere approaching 40mph is a good place to start...

Hey 3rd gen guys, or anyone else. I want to upgrade my tires but need a little help deciding on what to get with running stock suspension. I think the biggest I can go is 275/75/16. I probably won't be upgrading my suspension for a while due to lack of funds, but I'd love some more aggressive tires for my future trips. Anyone got some recommendations on brand/size I should get?

    I'm a Toyo Whore. I had A/T II's on my Tacoma, M/T's and R/T's on my 4Runner

    A/T

    M/T

    R/T

R/T's are by far my favorite. Not sure if they make them in that size. They are limited.

Stock tire size or you may rub, wider tires (like a 275) will usually rub worse than simply taller tires.

A lot of guys like Toyos, BFG KO2s... What is your budget? Terrain?

Without a lift the largest you can fit with no issues is a 265/75R16.

Not sure of budget yet. Just wanna get a bunch together and pick my favorite. Probably looking at an All Terrain. Something that will still be nice driving 40 miles to work each way every day.

I really like my K02's. They aren't on the inexpensive side that's for sure, but for daily driving and wheeling (especially dirt/rocky terrain) they are outstanding.

Ugh you're gonna hate burning through expensive rubber on that drive. Like we talked about in Pismo, I'm at 40,000mi on my KO2s and in some areas beginning to think I need new ones.

They're damn good though. Pricy but they work. Note that loan range E has a tendency to hurt.

Damn work commutes. I should (hopefully) be moving closer to work in the next few months so my daily mileage will decrease a lot so it shouldn't be as bad.

Always been happy with BFG's KO1 or KO2. I have had them on three trucks. Tacoma, dodge ram, ford -150. They are quieter than most agressive all terrains and you get a good amount of miles on em. I didn't wheel my f-150 as much as my tacoma but those tires lasted 60,000 miles on my last set and could have went for more

Huge fan of R/Ts and I would have em if they made my tire size. But Toyo is way over priced for somebody on a budget.

Yeah I don't think they do a 285/75R16 in the RT. I considered their mud terrains so I could be like BJ
