Is there a way to just remove the rear (chrome) bumper covers? I looked under the bumper and there seems to be a few plastic clips, but does not seem like they are just held on by those. My goal is to remove them so I can paint them.

There is an existing thread with nearly the exact same thread title as yours. Search for it.

did you check yourself? i searched, couple different combinations. found nothing except for some for 1st/2nd gen bumpers. i searched titles only and I found one where someone asked but nobody answered, someone asked before the 3rd gen was out, and this thread.

think these need to be called anything but a bumper. anything that bumps into them they will shatter into many peaces. whats next plastic wheels?
since you called them bumper covers is there a actual bumper under the covers that would take an impact?
