I've got 6700 miles on my '16 Sport and my clutch is squeaking and making noise. Had it in to be lubed up. It was fixed for the better of a day and it came right back. Technician that lubed it up said the humidity causes it. Turning the music up takes care of hearing the squeak but the creaky pedal travel is still felt. I'm gonna address it on my 10k service.

They must be using the exact same parts and engineering in the g3. My g2 has been doing "all of the above" since brand new, exactly as described.

Still on original clutch, no actual mechanical problems resulting (knock on wood), after almost 150k.

I'm sorry to hear that Toyota has not fixed the issue of a squeaky clutch on the 3rd gens..... :(

After awhile the fact that your truck sounds like a old barn door every time you press down the clutch will wear on you. I've been dealing with this problem in my 2010 for a few years and so far have not found a permanent fix, but have found temporary fixes that help.

If your truck is still on warranty then I would take it into the dealership and tell them to fix it. It won't go away, the fixes (as detailed below) are temporary for most people, and over time the noise will get worst if you don't at least do the temporary fixes.

Here are a couple of threads with advice. Basically grease/lube and rotating / tightening a bolt. Hope it helps.

Try using graphite as a lube. its dry and in powder form, comes in a little tube that you squirt. Made for door locks but works good for me. I pick up my TRD OR 4x4 DCSB MT on friday and I hope mine does not squeak $.02

It was really humid today in the Delta, and my chit sounded like a screen door from the 50's.

I didn't want to start a thread like this, but since it's here... Count me in with a squeaky third gen clutch pedal. Started doing this from new.

I have a 'creaky' clutch pedal as well. I'll be asking about it at my 5k service in a week. Mostly happens when it's hot outside, and the truck has been sitting. Once it's been running a while it seems to go away.

mine was creaking also until this morning.. I did a quick spritz with WD40 on all of the contact/pivot spots, and it's now completely smooth and quiet.

I hope it lasts. I've been having to do that "quick spritz" every 3-4 weeks for the last 3 years. That's why I say, if you have a 2016, it's under warranty, then take it to Toyota and have them fix it permanently.

Ya, with all my Toyota clutches it seemed like it was always the pivot points as the source of the creaking and squeaking. WD40 or similar worked well as well as garage door lube is what I usually used.

    mine squeaks.

figured it was normal and it'll fix itself out in a year or two.

Just brought mine to the dealer today for this same creaking issue. It was 90+ degrees over the weekend and was creaking like crazy - and was especially bad slowly releasing the pedal in first gear (ie driving in stop and go traffic). This morning it was cooler and was not making any noise. Despite explaining the exact circumstances the dealership unsurprisingly didn't find anything wrong.

Have you tried a little Lube on the pivot Points. That's fixed all my Toyota clutches over the years

My 2015 creaked too on hot days, ended up using Disc Brake Grease on all the pivot points and its been good since.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will try that out... was really hoping the dealer would at least attempt to squirt something in there to address my concerns but guess I was expecting too much.

What has the dealer told those of youthat brought it in for squeaking?

Mines began at 10k miles. I live in Phoenix and we just had a record amount of 110 plus degree days.

My '15 squeaked unmercifully and was embarrassing in first and reverse because of how slow you move the pedal. I took it to the dealer once and they lubed it, noise came back. I took it for an oil change and mentioned it to them again, they lubed it again and told me to not worry about it. Third time was a charm, I guess there is a TSB or the shop decided it was pretty awful, so they swapped the clutch assembly. No squeak now, if you have warranty go to the dealer is my advice. :)

I did the same thing last week. They told me every tech drove it and it's says it's ok. I told them they are all deaf if they don't hear it. They said they hear it but it's normal "there is suppose to be a little slack in there." Exact words.

    See above

Mine would squeak on and off. First service, the tech could not duplicate the problem. Second service I took video and emailed it to the service writer. Service writer recommended the pedal be disassembled and checked. I was told that all parts were in working order and only needed lubing. Been driving for 2 week and no more squeak.

Ahhh, the typical "it's normal" excuse from Toyota.
