I ordered from tonneau covers world and got it for $780 and free shipping. Talked to a couple other places and they wouldn't budge on price.

Wow that's a great price! They are listed at $899. Assume you called in? Seems like they frequently "special phone deals" often advertised.

Yes, called in. Other places didn't budge on price. But TCW was awesome, didn't take too much hassling either.

Sorry for the late response: No bulkhead seal required. I used black RTV to seal -- no leaks -- see the first post in this thread, I highlighted the holes I filled.

Can you put black RTV down and under the side rails too?

Did you put the sealant on the bulkhead or just in the places in the photos? .....Also, did you put sealant down the side rails from cab to tailgate?

You can but I would not...If that part does not seal, something is wrong.

No issues here. Worst case you just mod your mounting brackets. Allpro hilift mounts still fit great. I have the Relentless mounts resting on the rim of the bed cubby door.

MX4 installed. Took care to make sure it was fitting as it was supposed to. But it's leaking from the rails. Not the bulk head or tailgate, but literally dripping in from side rails at hinge points. Worse in person than the pics are showing. And that's from just running the hose over top quickly. Thoughts?

I had a similar issue but not too bad...When I talked to factory rep, I was told they were aware of the leaking issue...I was told to just put a small bead of black RTV along the rails......I did this because I will not be taking up the rails any time soon.......and then let it dry for 24 hrs...Then I took a power washer that mimics a car wash and washed truck...Did not spray for extended period of time...Just enough to insure wet and soap off.....Dried down and opened the cover...No water per se, but when I opened it up, there was very small dripping from the rails at contact points of the cover.....That was expected because the rails carry water down and out tubes......I did not use the bulkhead ¾" or ½" seal at this time.....i don't think i need it

Edit: dont think that RTV should be a fix, but it did help in my case...i believe they are working on a permanent fix

Thanks for the info. Not sure what a permanent fix would be? And I agree putting RTV along the rails should not be the answer. I wrote Bak. I'll let you know what they say.

yes, please do....The RTV i used was Permatec Black ATV....I cut the tip to about 1/16" to ⅛"......I applied it to just inside the the rail seal....That was about ¼" inside towards to bed side....doesn't take much....just go slow

I am confused - on the AutoCustoms video he shows to use the weather stripping along the front rail and has an extra step of removing the rail and plugging the corners... On the BakFlip video he says no strip is necessary (and chucks it aside). Which one is correct - OEM instructions or reseller instructions?

Mine leaks along the side rails also. Had it couple weeks now. The guy at Bak talked me into this new model. I had a fiber max for 5 years. I can tell you this, the MX4 leaked more the first rain than my fiber max did the entire time a had it. The fiber max was on GMC Sierra. Not sure if that would matter. If I was buying one right now for my new Tacoma, it would be a fiber max without a doubt.
