What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

idk yet i was checking out the 275's after talking to you last night they're a deffinite possibility i've gotta figure this suspension out first i want the back a little higher than the front so if i get a tire carrier or something in the back it ought to end up about level but not 3" difference

 

Oh your gonna do that! Ok I see I see now. Make the the truck on a level lift and but a stronger and fatter over load leaf in the rear

my thinking is a compromise i'll raise the bilsteins to the .85 setting trying to get an inch back and then if the rear is still too high i'll pull the overload spring out to drop the rear a little i'd like the rear just 1 '' to 1 1/2" higher thaan the front that way when i put something in the back or pull a trailer it'll be level

How much of a difference did the sound dampening make for you? Did it improve road noise, insulation from the sun? I have a 2015 and I think I may loose my nerve taking the interior apart like that. Live in Texas and wonder if that would help in the heat. I do hate how loud the cabin is on freeways. Give me some thoughts and feedback on this.

How do you like the 885's? I'm debating between those and the 883, how much lift did the 885 give you? I was originally going to buy 6112's but my truck sees more pavement then dirt and I think ill just be wasting money for something the 5100's could handle.

 

Did you get the Eibachs from HSO too? I can't seem to find them on their site.

 

no i got the set from a buddy they're fairly new and in great shape. from what i've read the eibachs go best with the bilsteins idk what difference it makes really toytec sells them now

 

Ah, I see. I need to order a set and wanted to give HSO my business if they had em. Looks like I will just have to get them from the guys one state over.

 

look on their web site there are two sets listed i have the 112620 they are 620lb rated and give a 1.6" lift which i can attest to is pretty accurate. the other set isn't rated quite as heavy but gives more lift

stock for now but they're on the list. i need to solidify my plans for tires before i worry about them unless i have an alignment issue

 

I jumped the gun on my post and posted before reading all of it lol but I'm hoping that the .85 setting will be enough and that you won't have to worry about taking that overload leaf out.

 

i'm trying to make this thing off roadable i don't think setting the struts at .85 will preload too much even with the eibach coils at least i hope not now to figure out wheels and tires i've got 17x9's on it now with 285/70/17's but have been being explained the virtues of the 255/85/16's idk

 

Ok, so my wife bought some huge comfy lounge chairs at Costco for camping, so I had to install the bars to carry the the car topper to carry the lounges. Lounges $100. Rest of the shit to carry them $300. Happy wife, happy life

The stock breather valves are a rubber duck bill. No matter where you mount it, it still will not allow air to enter into the diff when you hit water and the diff rapidly cools, therefore you will still possibly suck water in through the end seals on the axle. To prevent this, you have to use a free breathing filter, not a 1 way valve as the stock breather is. The ARB is basically just an air compressor sintered filter, so you could probably pick one up at HF for about $5. Well worth it, otherwise the relo mod does nothing to protect your diff.
