    With the auto on you can have the battery last longer while it's sitting in the safe or in the gun rack but it'll still be ready if you need it.

    Auto-on is just another circuit that can fail. A 2032 battery is $2 and lasts over 5 years if the 50k hours is anywhere close to being correct. I don't see the auto-on as a positive.

    I was going to order a HS503C last night but decided not to, decided I should go ahead and get it for my defensive carbine and they were out of stock, so I bought a HS403C from PA.
