Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I refuse to buy AMD until they figure out their naming conventions. It's like the pick random numbers from the sky and attach them to shit. Intel is beginning to do the same so apparently I'll just have to move to hamsters to solve my computing needs.

At least nVIDIA pulled their head out and realized going with a 10x0 makes sense, everyone remember when the 9800's became the GTX2x0 cards? First, where's the GTX1x0? and why did it go down?!?!

I don't know about now, but back in the AMD Athlon days, a 2800+ was supposed to feel like it was 2800MHz, even though it was actually running at just under 2100MHz.

I'm fine with whatever they name shit as long as that generation makes sense.

If you are mad at AMD why aren't you mad at nVidia for the whole Titan and Ti deal? I mean it's the same thing. Adding more letters and numbers to describe the same cards with binning.

My last AMD chip was a 965 Phenom as well. I really hope that whatever AMD brings out next can keep up to the intel i5 series.

Yes, I know this as well ;P.

To be honest there is a reason why intel tried to make Netburst work as long as they did. One super strong worker can lift things quicker than 8 super weak ones trying to figure out how to lift things together.

Who said I wasn't mad at nVIDIA? It's honestly beyond me why they're having such a hard time keeping version numbers sensible.

Also: I agree with your statement in some situations, yes. In the modern world right now? That isn't necessarily true or untrue. It really depends on use case.

Yeah. It's really as simple as figuring out whether the job is easy to divide equally or not. Jobs that are easy to divide have seen massive jumps from multicore systems. Jobs that are hard to divide up equally though have not.

That's also partially why the AMD FX processors never panned out...

Yup, the cheeseball "well I gotta do a bunch of individual things so I'll just do them simultaneously" as opposed to actually spreading load out.

Although I do get it has to do with a lack of standardization in hardware.

Depends on the software too. There's still a number of programs that don't take advantage of multi-core CPUs.

That's the trick. Basically you need the software to match up with how the hardware wants to break up the task. If you don't get it right then you don't see massive advantages.

Well, sorry to say but my Qnix2710 monitor bit the dust. Going to order another one but this time with a display port and hdmi.

That was the biggest gripe with the one that went out. It was dual dvi only.

Still no way i'll ever go back to 1080. To me it just doesnt look right on a 27 in monitor.
And im not ready to go 4k yet so another qnix 2710 in fabulous 2560x1440 is on order.

Lots of good reviews on Amazon. I don't do any gaming so I don't know what help the refresh and hertz help. I am running a 24" 720p TV as my monitor...

There is absolutely no ghosting at 144 hz. Whether its gaming, watching movies or scrolling text.
I came from a qnix 2710 which was 2560x1440p as well. It was 5ms response, 60hz. I never noticed it though. It was a great monitor for the $300 that i paid for it at the time.

This BenQ has a super heavy, sturdy base. Adjusts up, down, swivels left right, tilts fwd and back. And also has the ability to turn completely verticle.

It has a button on the side that you push and out comes an extension that you can hang headphones on. Also has built in usb 3.0.
Hdmi and im finally getting to use displayport with my 770 sli setup.

It also has a remote switch with buttons for different color profiles and custom rbg setups.
Kinda handy when switching from gaming, movies and webpages.

Being used to this resolution, i can tell you its a bit harder to read text from webpages but I use the magnification in firefox and it works great. Webpages are super clear and concise.

After calibrating and trying a few rgb, contrast, gamma setting that i found online, I finally have it tweaked out.
The colors and clarity is absolutely stunning.
The blacks are very black (has a special adjust for black) and the whites are amazing.

Ill try and get some pics up this week sometime. I only wish i could afford 2 more of these and turn all 3 verticle for a sweet tripple monitor racing sim.

Oh...unfortunately, i cant use the "freesync" feature because I have nvidia cards. But i think my next build might use sone amd cards. Nevertheless...i just turn the freesync off. I need gsync.

I'm not a fanboy. I'd ditch the 770's for some amd cards. But I read the performance is negligable with freesync/ gsych.

You read correctly. Honestly the difference between the companies is little to nill when you buy at the same price point. It's usually nVidia stability, which is more a thing of the past than a current truth, that leads to their higher sales. I try to buy AMD because competition is good and the value on many of their cards is marginally better.

I love the competition. I was a huge intel fan till amd stuck a stick in intels eye back in "96" with the 1.33 thunderchicken.
Been goin back and forth ever since.
