    Hey everyone!

I just bought my first Tacoma. I got a 2016 Silver TRD Sport 4x4 with Prem/Tech/JBL, Tonneau, Tow package, AW mats & Toyo Gurad Elite (Southeast Toyo add on couldn't take off its on all SE Toyos) MSRP was $40,413 and I got it for $36,288, Saved $4,125 off MSRP.

If you are looking to purchase a new Tacoma and are within a reasonable drive distance to Atlanta I highly recommend reaching out to Kevin Echols at AutoNation Toyota on Thornton Rd. I didn't even have to negotiate that price he put his best foot forward right out the gate. On the 2017's I inquired about he was around 3k off MSRP if you are getting the Sport or OR with Prem/Tech/JBl package or the Limited.

If you are further up North and to far to drive to Atlanta talk to Dean Mahalati at Ohio West Toyota. I spoke with him as well regarding a 2017 model and he is at the same price off MSRP fro 2017 as Kevin (3k) with the same stipulations as above. I believe he said 2k off if not getting the prem/tech/jbl package.

Both guys are very upfront and don't play the usual salesman BS games.

I ended up going with Kevin at AutoNation because I decided on the 2016 vs 2017 since it is virtually the same truck and would save me more on the 2017 price and also this is the time of year to get amazing deals on the 2016. Kevin also had the 2 software updates done on the transmission and engine before I picked up the truck.

I drove roundtrip Nashville to Atlanta and it was well worth the trip to save the 4k. Kevin was amazing to work with and he delivered on everything he said he would. The truck shifted perfectly and rode amazingly well on the 4-5 hour drive home.

Just thought I would post this to help anyone out looking to purchase. He was a referral from a member here @se7en and I was appreciative he referred me to him so I thought I would pass it along.

Also in case anyone is wondering....I am not getting any kind of kickback from Kevin or Autonation for posting this. Just trying to give back here to all the members & everyone here that helped me along the way. I was also in sales for 10+ years and I like helping an actual honest good salesman out who is not trying to rip people off.

Hope this helps someone out! Matt

can you pm me his email address? I've been talking to the local dealers here. I've also talked to Dean Mahalati, but atlanta is closer than columbus by about an hour or so.

Yes that is exactly why I decided on the 4x4 because I KNOW there will come times when I will need it. Its well worth the peace of mind to have it IMO. Also now that I have it I want to get it off road at some point and get her dirty! Ill post some pics here once I get a chance. Since I took yesterday off for the drive I am slammed catching up at work.

3-4k off MSRP is pretty good. No trade in?

Congrats! Picking up my 2017 this weekend. I'm wondering since these are the essentially the same truck, would there be software updates they could go ahead and perform on my 2017?

I did trade in my 12 year old Ford Ranger with 122k miles. I didn't have to trade it in either with Dean or Kevin to get that price though. They gave me the price of the truck upfront regardless if I wanted to trade in or not.

The 2017 should already have the TSV update done on it. My build date on the truck was 6/24 so I wasn't sure if it had it done so he had the tech check and he gave me a paper saying he did the update. Either way the truck is shifting fine, I had to go up MountEagle in East TN and its a pretty steep grade for about 5 miles and it handled it like a champ.

my least favorite part about going up and down monteagle is all of the dumbasses that ride their brakes the whole way down. It smells amazing.

My new Ride! Was set on Black for the exterior color but the Silver really grew on me. Also since I am going to do Black Clazzio leather inside I thought the Black on Black may be too much and too hot. Thought the Silver with Blacked out interior would look better IMO. Going to Add more Black accessories to exterior I think as well. Even though Im not a huge fan of chrome IMO the chrome looks really good against Silver metallic too though.
