Yep these next 3 months are going to drag. On a positive note, I'll be doing a weekend camping trip to Turkey Creek in Oct to go check out the Aravaipa ghosttown site.

I'd like to join in on this one if I could? My truck is a 4x but that group is full.

I'll try the 4x route. Haven't driven it before. How difficult is it?

As long as your not super touchy about your paint job/undercarriage and are down for mass amounts of hiking/mine exploring you're probably good but final word lies with the man who's name is on the thread.

Difficulty is not horrible but you need atleast a lift and sliders and if you screw up you might die cuz there's alot of shelf road... but that's what spotters are for... and brass balls. That's what spotters and brass balls are for.

Just a bunch of old crap
    :taco::taco::taco::taco:

Can't wait for this! Got a few things to do to the truck before we go to make everything rock solid. Should have it all done in early November.
    • Replacing front hub bearings
    • New CV's
    • New passenger LCA
    • New UCA poly bushings
    • Fix broken u-joint on propeller shaft
    • Probably add the gas tank skid I'm sitting on (once I get the OR tank straps), and add mid skid
I may head up Thursday afternoon and camp at the trail head or find someone's driveway to crash in the night before.

No, I understand that it's Mike. That's why I asked about the 4 runner being listed as vehicle. If it was satin it would have made sense. Just giving ya shit anyway bro.

Oh, haha! Yeah, no, I would not drive that thing on rug road. It would most certainly make it with its air lockers and badass suspension but I wouldnt risk it since it is just so pretty.

We are interested in 2WD via Phoenix side, at least in finding out more info. There are several map references to Turkey Creek in many counties, what is the end point? Want to check things out, the Tacoma is stock and the teardrop has low clearance.

Is there an easy way to find more trips on the site? Just happened on this.

    Thanks

Look for aravaipa canyon. Turkey Creek runs perpendicular to aravaipa canyon and there's only one aravaipa. Aravaipa canyon has aravaipa creek flowing year round which is an anomaly in southern Arizona so its all protected but turkey creek which is honestly part of the same canyon is open camping but it only flows when there has been heavy rain fall. If you're coming in the 2wd route you will be driving through aravaipa canyon to get to turkey creek. When the road takes a sharp left beside the creek you are entering turkey creek. We came within a mile of that junction.
