So I'm not totally done but here's what I've been up to at Coastal Cottage

I experimented with using the concrete tab a lot in this settlement . I like the low wall around the perimeter of the courtyard , I'll use that idea again

    Rebuilt / renovated existing buildings

    New settler's quarters

Yeah, I've been hitting the Gunners plaza regularly. And also that vault they have (forget the number)
I was doing it to get sturdy/heavy combat armor to equip my provisioners with.

Finally got on again yesterday. Fired up the PC for the first time since its splashing, Saturday. It came up just fine.
The UPS is throwing a code, and complaining about a wire fault, but my place always had shitty wiring, it may be time (its a 2011 UPS)
    to get another.

Tried some more farting around in the new vault. I was exploring, starting scrapping all that Limestone and Radioactive rock, fought the stupid scorps and the
    SentryBot or what not.

Now what seems really interesting, and maybe I need to get to the right quest, because I havent gotten the idiot on his cycle yet is the unfinished power plant.
There is a base, core, shielding units and a crane right next to the core, but I couldnt see anyway to get in the crane and move the core...
I dont want to build a stupid settlement type plant because there looks to be power down there already, I need to see how to connect to it.

And in other news, after NukaWorld I will probably reinstall Fallout3.

Had an idea and did a quick experiment that turned out to work . I was wondering about using the Vault supports as a perimeter fence platform and / or gaurd towers , turns out that they will snap together and all floors except the scaffolding tab snap to them , including the shack stairs , plus walls will snap to them . Should be able to do some sweet effects with these

Yes but you can snap walls or 1/2 walls to them if you want to block that off

    Ack.
    Installed Fallout3.
    Installed Windows Live for Games.

Getting some freezes, tried suggested CPU ini changes to get it running properly using lower cores. Still freezing, ack.

I remember having to make 2 INI file changes. One for the core number, and one for somethingoranotherHDwhatchamacallit for my nVidia GPU to render shit correctly. Without those two entries, I couldn't even get through the intro movie.

Its weird. I originally just changed the FOV, copying what was done for F4, for my UltraWide monitor. Everything ran/rendered fine (GTX-970). I tried changing the height and width to support the resolution I wanted, but that would fail on start with a message, so I went to the widest they had. It ran fine.

I then played more last night. I was mostly clearing out the Super-Duper Mart, then I went and was doing the stuff with that settlement on a bridge, delivering Lucy West's letter and her parents were dead, etc.

    I started having more freezes.

    I found this:

And it hasn't totally worked yet.
I read somewhere else if it didn't work, then drop the Threads down to 1.

Those radscorpions at Level 3 are no joke. I had better luck with a combat shotgun instead of the 10mm pistol.
Then I ran into a Super Mutant Brute with a missile launcher. I had to use a stealth boy, then used most of my stash of frag grenades on him.

Running around in some Vault Armor, I am using this build here: (scroll down)
    Sam's Femme Fatal Xyiana.308(High Vats/Critical build)
    http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Fallout_3_character_builds

I will see how much I dump into melee. Its interesting, and cheaper than blowing ammo on everything, nice to be able to just pound some things. I am trying to bring up repair/small guns/lockpick/science evenly.

Then there is the temptation to start running for all the bobbleheads now... But its fun just rediscovering everything.

I need to find a real rifle soon!

I play on PC, so I don't think I can glitch things like y'all do. I haven't been able to select-all or rug glitch anything yet. Everything I build is straight done.

    It shouldn't matter

But the rug glitch will only work with items that don't snap to other items like junk fences

The pillar glitch is just an extension of the vanilla select all feature but you can only use it if the pillar is close enough to the other item and the pillar is on material it would normally be able to sink into like rock or soil but not floors

I don't know about "shouldn't matter". With a Steam Controller, I don't have a 'select all' button to use. If I press and hold the normal 'activate/grab/open' button (which is "A" be default), it only grabs the single highlighted piece of...whatever.

If you hold grab it doesn't select all items that are close to each other ?
