    Somethings been kind of bothering me and this hammer talk got me to write about it. My father is not healthy enough to use his tools at all anymore. My mother asked me to go through them and pick out what I would like to have. When I was a kid I remember my dad's workbench being full of all these beautiful hand tools. Everything was hanging in its own spot. When I went over, all I found was a pile of useless, greasy junk totally unorganized and in terrible shape. Seems my nephew has "had a go" at the stuff. I just left it there. Just a rant. Sorry.

    When my Grandpa passed he left a bunch of tools and my dad's brother and sister went through it all and took the good stuff except for the stuff my Gramps hid away for dad. He was the only one who appreciates them as they are his living. I hate that when family or people die it becomes a free for all.

    Yup, I agree...

    I ended up with most of my folks' stuff through default... dad moved in with me when mom died. You could also say I got stuck with the stuff no one wanted. But the few things my sisters wanted, they got. Maybe I should have fought for the real silver ware, though.... :eek: But I got the dining room table and the buffet that dad made - that meant more to me, than something they bought.
