That's exactly the same problem I had but it started getting slightly worse as time went on. Since I'm in a hot climate (avg. d/t temps have been in the high 90's) I figured that had something to do with it getting more pronounced. Again, it was only noticeable at very low speeds with the radio off. It sounded like it could be anywhere on the passenger's side but as soon as I asked the tech about it (right after he did the ECU Calibration) he said I know exactly what is wrong...a defective bushing on the passenger side front suspension. He then lifted up on the front fender well and squeak it did! When he finished with my truck this morning (actually yesterday 8/1) he said he had replaced the bushing in 4 other 16' Tacomas. Evidently it is not a big deal as it only took him about 45 minutes to do "whatever" and test drive the vehicle. All I know is that the squeaking is gone....hopefully forever. He showed me a picture he took of the defective part he replaced but, to be honest, I didn't understand what I was looking at except it looked all scarred up. He said there was a TSB for this issue and I will try to get more info about it from him.

Oh wow. This is really informative, and I will probably print this out to have it in hand if nothing else. Do you know the techs name and way dealership he is at? I can at least reference him if mine gives me any trouble. I too have been in really hot temps 90+ most of the month, so that may very well be exacerbating it, but I would rather it show up early and get fixed early. If he can provide a tsb or any other info that I can use at my dealership, I would be very grateful, heck, I'm grateful for all this info you have provided so far! Thanks so much!!!

So last night I was giving the under belly a good cleaning as its seen a few off road trips with out me really getting it cleaned up good under there. While I was at it I gave the leaf spring bushings a good spray down. So far, on the drive to work 16 miles, no squeak. I've got a lunch meeting on the other side of town (probably be a total of about 50 miles round trip) today and will see how if it comes back after that drive and my drive home this evening. Ill keep everyone posted.

Well mine started squeaking now too.....noticed it this morning going through a bumpy parking lot with the window down. At first I didn't think it was me but when I pulled into a parking spot in between 2 vehicles you could hear it plain as day. I actually back up in pulled back in to make sure and I could hear it even with that little bit of rocking forward when you come to a complete stop.

Wonder if they'll tell you like they told me: "well if you're taking that TRD Off Road, off the road, then you're going to require some above & beyond maintenance to keep those springs from squeaking".

    What a crock!

I texted the tech (he gave me his cell number) and asked for the TSB number for the front bushing. I didn't want to put his name out there for all to see...as per his request. All I know is that, whatever he did/replaced totally eliminated the irritating squeak as I described in Post #221.

I totally understand him not wanting his name out there, just the info you have already supplied will suffice. Thank you for all the info you have already given on this issue, it has been helpful to me.

Had mine for the Trans TSB and mentioned the passenger side squeak last week. They found the "Right Front Body mount loose and off center". Fixed it and now quiet.
    Got that Bushing TSB number?

I found it's mostly the upper rear leaf connectors/bushings that are squeeky on my '14. After spraying them with lube my leaf squeak is 95% gone. Before it was so loud I could hear it through my windows when I was on the highway at 70mph and 2nd gens are noisy in the cabin.

Someday I'll take the leafs off and coat everything in a water resistant/proof axle grease which should keep them from squeeking longer term then just spraying lube every so often.

Rear leaf springs are being replaced tomorrow, both of them. One side was bad, despite being cleaned and greased and the Toyota engineer local here just told them to pull it. The other side had a bad bushing but they ended up just ordering a new leaf spring assembly. Should be on tomorrow then I will have my truck either tomorrow or Saturday. We will see how things work out from there. Front grinding noise was my skid plate being "misaligned" despite it only going on one way.

Does it coincide with what the suspension is doing? Or is it more speed/load related?

3,800 miles and 2 months of owning it, I finally started to hear some squeaking and rattling in the front passenger side suspension. Took it in today and they found that the top and bottom bolts of the shock weren't tight and that this was the cause of the rattling and squeaking. As soon as I drove off their driveway, I could still hear it. Immediately made a U turn to take it back. Technician rode along with me this time around to listen for it. Same spot leaving the driveway, same rattling and squeaking. They are now ordering new shocks to see if that fixes it and will call me when they arrive. Can't bitch too much because this is the growing pains that comes with a new generation model. Seems like Toyota didn't configure their torque machines to the right settings with all these loose nuts and bolts on the new Tacomas. We'll see if the new shocks do the trick.

If it doesn't, have them check the body mounts; particularly the ones on the radiator crossmember.
