Thought this might help some people figure out where they want to mount their radios. I had these installed back in October and have been happy with their locations. The Icom radio is pretty big, so with two radios my choices were limited. The CB radio on the driver side was put further forward incase my much shorter girlfriend needed to move the seat up. The passenger side had to stay back in order not to interfere with the glove box, sucks for the person in back haha.

All wiring is run into the console and hot on the battery. Both Antennas were installed either side along the hood gap. Let me know if you have questions!

PS: Yes my truck is very dirty from work, and yes my dog got ahold of the e brake lever

Looking into installing a cb. If I run cables through the drivers side firewall grommet, any idea if the antenna wire will pick up noise from the power wire? I'm also using that grommet for the switch wire to my ditch lights...

Can you provide a pic of the firewall where you ran it through. Just picked up my Tacoma over the weekend and want to install my Ft-8800r immediately.

@treehugger - are your antenna wires and power wires running through the same grommet? Does their proximity to each other cause any issues?

lmao no because it looks like that after two days. I work in the forest logging, I'm always dirty. Truck is always dirty/dusty. Just do a deep clean once a week.

Yes, and no issues thus far.
You would be proud; your heckling motivated me to go to the car wash.
