best michelin tires to replace stock tires?

i've been running the bridgestone dueler h/t tires that came on my truck ever since i got it and i'ld like to get a new set of tires and wheels but just don't have the money right now.. my dad says my treads are getting low and has offered to replace my tires for me but he says they have to be michelin because from his experience they last the longest

i love the way the duelers grip and handle the road

any suggestions on which tires to get? or which ones are the closest to the duelers i've been running?

i've got an '08 PreRunner Double Cab 2WD with the stock wheels that it came with

 

I had a set of michelin xclt4's when I got my truck, they lasted quite a while..When I replaced them, the dot # on the tire said they were 9 years old. They still had some tread left on them, would have had more if I didnt do alot of burnouts with the truck when I first got it...lol

Alot of people say that BFG all terrains last forever..I havent had mine long enough to tell yet thou.

Thats ALL you can replace them with, is michelin? He does know that tire manufacturers have a wear out guarentee right?

Michelin is great for car

truck tires, I was looking at Nitto, Toyo, BFG and bridgestone..

imo,the truck tires r awsome to.they r amazing on and off the road.

i have the a/t2 they are a great tire, went good through the field, mud and snow

 

I love my Michelin LTX M/S tires.

 

I just got a set of these...actually the M/S2, not sure whats new
these, Michelin LTX A/T2, are good too.

 

I've got the ltx m/s. They are good road tires. I've got around 40k miles on them and have at least 30k more.

 

michelin makes fantastic truck tires. ltx m/s are great. their new at/2's are also very nice. they last forever and wont let you down.

 

I had the LTX A/T 2s in 31x10.50R15 on my 2000. Almost as good off-road as the BFG All Terrain K/Os I had on there before, but didn't clear mud quite as well. They were just as good straight line in the snow, but didn't turn quite as well. On-road, however, they were head and shoulders above the BFGs (and the original Goodyears) - way quieter. I put about 6K on them before my truck got bought back for the frame rot, and they still looked new. My only gripe is that they're expensive... But I suppose you get what you pay for.

 

Go for the LTX's. I've owned them on all my SUVs and will have them on my Taco when the stock tires wear out. Even Tirerack customers rate them way up there.

 

bfg a/t's all the way... had three sets on my old tacoma at averaged 70k on each set!

 

I could have gotten that out of my BFGs - but they get mighty squirrelly in the snow after ~55K

The major benefit to the Michelins is road ride/noise without losing much off-road capability. If you're off road a lot, go with BFG. If you're on-road more than 90% of the time (and you can afford them) - go Michelin.

 

Hey guys I have worked for michelin tire for 12 years now ( i am 33) With out a doubt quality is 1 of are to priorities. Thanks for the comments.

 

Resurrecting a six year old thread, but the newest defenders are great tires. They don't look super aggressive but there probably isn't another tire that will beat it on the street and it can manage many off-road situations as well.

 

Hope he has made a decision by now! If not my vote is michelin
