upper control arm question

    I purchase the 4Runner in 8/16 Interior Custom white leather interior seats and door panels.Total stereo system kenwood deck JL front, JL component speakers in rear, comp kicker 12 with a polk 5 channel amp. Sound incredible The must do's with new truck Change the oil to synthetic, change transmission filter and fluid. Change fluid in both diffs and transfer case. Suspension Sway a way RR 2.5 coilovers, Sway bar relocate, dif. Drop, camburg upper control arms, all new adjustable rear control arms, toy tec 2.5" HD coils, Fox 2.0 shocks rear. If i could do over Id of got the icon stage 5 kit Spent $4300. Icon stage 5 kit 4900 and way way better Wheels & tires 20" Rock star wheels with 33.12.5. 20 mt. Tires. De Mello single hoop front bumper 6 weeks out still. mid nov. Soon a 05 Tacoma custom grille
    Have a chance to get a sway way lift. I have a 05 Toyota 4Runner. And the kit came off of an 08 Toyota Tacoma. Will the upper control arms work or are they totally different.

    I'll be interested to know, too. I have Camburg arms and they list two different parts one for 4Runner/FJ Cruiser and another for Tacoma. I couldn't say why, though.

    Camburg, FOX, Method, General Tire, Deaver
    Our uniball arms fit all models, same part # ... Tacoma 05-16, 4-Runner 03-16, FJ 07-14

    Our ball-joint arms don't since the ball-joints are model specific, one version fits Tacoma's and the other fits 4-Runner's and FJ's. It has to do with the length and threading of the ball-joint tapered stud.

    Those coilovers will also work on your 4-runner.

    @motoxscott - Why does Wheeler's list them as separate parts? I mistakenly ordered the 4Runner/FJ Cruiser number and they called to ask since I put 08 Tacoma as my vehicle. Now this was the ball joint UCA with the MOOG part pre-installed, if that changes anything.

    Edit to add: The MOOG part number is what's different I guess. Tacoma is
    $27 K80811 Front Upper Suspension Ball Joint for Toyota Tacoma
    K80811 and 4R/FJC is
    $24 K500018 Front Upper Suspension Ball Joint for Toyota 4Runner
    K500018. Didn't realize that. Still curious why they don't use the same ball joint if the suspension is the same.

    You can't put a Tacoma ball-joint into a 4-Runner/FJ OEM spindle/knuckle and vice versa. It has to to with the thickness of the spindle and getting the castle nut to line up with the cotter pin hole. Toyota should have made all the stuff interchange, but they didn't. It's not a problem with uniball arms since you're through bolting them together and not using castle nuts, etc.

    Thanks for all the answers. I do have two more questions. Camburg upper control arms they have the right ball joint for either one Tacoma,4Runner or FJ"what am i lacking to install? Also. I did end up getting rear shocks. So with the shock in the picture? What would be a good coil spring, do I need spacers. I have the long travel offset rear suspension. In box. My 4runner is stock. Sport with the the X- suspension.4.7l. Wish I had more time to finish this post.
