You got H11's for the high beams? The manual says they are H9.

Are the ones you listed one of the H9/H11 compatible units? I know the only difference is the configuration of tabs in the connector.

 

H11 bulbs can fit in place of H9 bulbs, but not the other way around because of the tabs. That's the way I understand it at least. But yea, moral of the story: they fit haha

 

Everything still good with these you got? Looking to start swapping mine out little by little. Still no electrical issues or hyperflashing?

 

Yup yup, I've got about 12k miles on the truck now and I installed them before my first service. I also roadtripped from NC to FL and back and didn't have any issues.

I installed the same low beam bulbs and they were terrible! I thought they were okay until I turned off my fog lights; that's when I realized that they were barely putting any light on the road. Looking at them when they were on, they looked fine, but none of the light gets projected onto the road. They were so bad I took them out.

 

Many have suggested that the geometry of our headlight housing is entirely wrong for LEDs, resulting in very poor throw.

Bummer, sorry to hear that. Yea, I'm gonna try and find a higher power bulb that will fit (it's tough without having room for the heat sink) and report back. I know people have differing opinions on having the fogs on all the time, so it's understandable if you only want your lows on.

Now that I think about it, it might be easier to just do a HID for the lows and LEDs everywhere else.

 

After re-reading my post, I thought I'd clarify it some. After I installed the low beams, I stood in front of my truck and looked at the lights. The projector lenses were lit up, and I could tell that the bulbs were working, and since it was already dark, I figured I'd take it on a test drive. I normally always have my fog lights on with my low beams, and I had the fog lights on for my test drive, which are very bright LEDs. When I got to a darker part of the road in my neighborhood, I noticed that it didn't look like I was getting much light projected more than 15 yards in front of my truck, which surprised me because I was expecting the new LED low beams to be much brighter than the stock halogens. Since I had my fog lights on, I decided to turn them off so that I could isolate what the low beams were doing on their own. Once I turned off the fog lights, I realized how little the LED low beams were illuminating the road in front of me, they were essentially useless for illuminating the road. I would have been better off with a flashlight, or even a few candles on my hood! Not being able to see the road at night made it a simple decision to switch back to a halogen low beam.

 

Ah I see what you mean now. I've noticed that too. I've also noticed that since the color of the light is different it doesn't paint that yellowish glow on the road, but I can see objects in the road from a pretty good distance (road signs especially). That being said, I can't pin down if it's dim because of the bulb not being powerful enough or if it's just the temperature of the light. Once I get another bulb to test I'll try and get some real data instead of just a hunch. A higer power bulb might fix it.

The two map lights fit perfectly, it's the dome light that was a bit of a pain. I got it to fit though and haven't had an issue with it, but no, I haven't found a better fitting one :/ if you can find a festoon bulb that is just a mm or two shorter than the one I posted it should fit better.

 

I recently changed both the low beams and the fog light bulbs for Broview LEDS https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BF6EDKA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

They are really friggin' bright.....but don't have the distance of HID's. I'm happy with them though.

 

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to brighten the stock LED cargo/bed light? Not bright enough IMO.

 

OP, please list in your first post, on the third brake line, that you have an Access Cab. The Double cab third brake light is not the same as yours. The double cab third brake light uses red bulbs because the cover is clear.

Also, your pictures don't help much because you have no comparison with stock head, fog, or high lights and your camera is not fixed to one setting.
