Q: Are you supposed to tip the Sonic carhops?

I would say that it would be fine to give her the tip...

 

i just tipped the carhop at our sonic....ordered a ton of grubb...she brought it to us...she was hot as hell...and its cold as a mofo out!

 

bah....told cold for me to try and ninja a pic in the cold and not brightly lit area.

 

I learned that carhops make $5.15 an hour.

Thats MORE then waiters/waitresses, but LESS then min wage.

I voted no, There job is to bring out your food. Now a waiter is diffrent they bring out your food fill your drink. and see if you need anything.

never been to one, if i do ever go i probably would not tip, probably because i work at a grocery store and get crap from customers all day and never get a tip. One even said i would tip you but you make to much money which is bs.

 

Well, I voted "if she is hot" however I've yet to see a "hot" sonic carhop. If you have seen one then you MUST post pics in this thread.

Anyway...I usually let them keep the coin change.

 

I may sound like an @ss, but I don't ever tip Sonic carhops. Pizza delivery I do tip, and tip good and in restaurants .
When does the tipping stop? So they walk out a few feet and give you your food, It's their job. Granted sometimes It can be hard trying to carry all of that food out to the car. I just don't think a tip is warranted, unless they carry out a huge amount of food for a big family, than I say a tip is warranted.

 

X2 on tipping the pizza guy. I've asked dominos guys to pick up a case of beer while they deliver the pizza, and they always do it. I tip the hell out of those guys.

 

Holy crap! People working at the Sonic need the money or they wouldn't be there. It's not a career move. At least they are out there in the job market instead of laying on their ass expecting me to pay their way.

Since I can afford to eat at Sonic, that means I have a better job and can afford a tip.

If you don't tip those poor guys, you are a cheap shit and should eat at home. Grow up.

 

Some of my good friends are carhops at the local Sonic. I stop by sonic (seriously) 35+ times a month. No I'm not a fatty. I just love the food and the... carhops. Went to Sonic today for lunch.


Depending on who brings it out and if I have it laying around, I'll give them a tip.

 

Sonic is fast food. Do you tip the guy at McDonalds or Burger King?

 

nope....but mickey d's and bk dont bring the food to ya. (unless they tell ya to pull up and bring the shit to ya 15 minutes later.)


doesnt really matter...tip if you want to.......otherwise...dont. i dont mind tossing a tip their way.

 

I always tip! The good Lord blessed me with a good job and most of these girls could probably use the couple of bucks more than me.

I don't see it being the same as McDonalds or BK. Most of the Sonics around here have a drivethru. If I go through that I don't, but if they bring it out to my vehicle then I view them as being waitresses.
