Hillary supporters did it. She'll speak in a couple days about making machine guns and explosives illegal.

It was some local nut job. He got caught after the first 3, lead the atf in to find the rest and was shot and killed trying to escape

I've got a lower I need to build an upper for. I somehow traded off all my other complete AR's and just ended up with it. Built a couple of lowers but this is my first scratch upper so trying to make sure I do my research on parts.

The upper is where tolerances matter, and where you want to spend money. Don't skimp on bcg, bolt, and barrel. I really like a cold hammer forged chrome lined 1:7 twist barrel for .223/5.56. Are you sticking with that, or going a different route like .300 or something?
    See above, and also AMA.

Uncle Sam really jams it in and breaks it off on those 80 hour weeks doesn't he? Glad things sounds like they're calming down for you.

Just saw this. There was no debate happening. I just think it's funny that is the only historical marker outside the Ryman. While I have your ear bent, what are your thoughts on Scrugs style banjo picking? For a boy from NC I don't think he did half bad.

my brother is starting his company that does nothing but makes AR's. Right now there are 2 models, both 556 (im pretty sure) but one is set up with a different upper for longer distance shooting. if you want more details let me know. He should start actually "selling" in the next 2-3 weeks.

ALL parts made in america and hes currently a Special Forces Executive Officer (just got done being a team leader) and will be getting out of active duty to pursue this company full time. 3 deployments (2 on SF, first one was as infantry PL/XO).

He also custom designed a rail feature (I dont think he ended up changing it back to the non custom design) and fits all new magpul accessories (and old of course).

Let me know if you're interested. I can get you in contact with him and he can clarify and answer all the questions with the correct details. hes a gun wiz.

There's a monument in Illinois that claims Abraham Lincoln was a democrat.....when if fact he was the very FIRST republican President. My dad always said, "I can go stand in the garage, but that doesn't make me a car". Long story short, people erect monuments to their own agenda's. They aren't always historically accurate. Bluegrass originated in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. It was derived from Celtic folk music that was familiar to the Irish and Scottish immigrants that settled there. At some point, what became traditional "country music" of the early 20th century spawned from Bluegrass.... (For the record, I'm from Indiana originally, not claiming the Kentucky connection because I'm from there...)

As far as Scruggs.....His music is pure genius. And extra digit plucking strings gives a totally different sound. If Scruggs and Flatt were to come along today, they would be mega stars, and billionaires. There are a number of great pickers from all over the world. Steve Martin (the comedian) is an absolute banjo virtuoso. I heard a recording a few years ago of Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) playing a banjo. With zero training, he picked it up and blew it to pieces. Great musicians can adapt to any instrument.

Great points about Abe and the car. I'm well versed in the lore of Appalachia and the Scots-Irish influence. There is another historical marker like that about my ancestors, as they were the first settlers in Nashville. I definitely agree about a great musician adapting to any instrument. I firmly believe the best modern rendition of this is found in Jack White. He is truly a musician, and plays each instrument for the sound it makes. Did you ever see "It Might Get Loud"?

I'm supposed to be trading for some parts to make a 225/556 but dude keeps slacking on collecting the pieces for me.
