Creating this thread to help future 2017 owner(s) to decide if they should buy now or wait for 2018 :)

So, 2017 owners please share your truck's info and how it perform or any issue(s)?

    Thanks

Only had mine for 2 days. Put a 122 miles on it. I plan to provide my full assessment of this truck when I reach 10,000 miles

I have listened to many people on TW complain about the acceleration and lack of engine power I find that this truck has pretty good power and the acceleration is not bad from my view point. If you brought this truck for power and race car acceleration then you have brought the wrong truck. Not happening with the Tacoma.

I have not experienced hood vibration, steering wheel or brake pedal vibrations. I have not heard any cabin noises either. Keep in mind I have only put on 122 miles so I still have a ways to go.

I will continue to provide updates

I just bought mine and have had it for 2 days. Only has 89 miles on it so far. Cab is very quite while driving. However, I have experienced some "glitches" within the truck while driving . I called the dealer and the guy told me these will happen up to 1000 miles. He said it takes 1000 miles for all the computers to sync, communicate, and work together. He also said thats when you start getting the better gas mileage. Only time will tell. I love it so far and will provide updates as well when I get more miles on it.

It takes time for computers to sync and work together? As an embedded software engineer with 30 years experience, I call BS on that one.

Sorry. I meant the dealer is full of it, not you. You were just given dubious information.

Computers read and react to data. There is a learning process whereby the computer learns your driving patterns, at least in some setups, and that may be what the dealer meant, but it doesn't work the way they explained it... There is no syncing and learning how to work together

Not a 2017 but I got a 2016 produced at the Texas plant in July at the very end of the 2016 cycle. It is a 4x4 v6 SR5 access cab automatic. I was coming from a 2015 6 speed manual that I did not want to give up, but we had issues with others in the family who needed to drive it occasionally so I reluctantly traded it in. Prior to that I had a 2008 Tacoma Prerunner that I also loved but needed a 4x4. So... I have a pretty good comparison basis to 2nd gens. While I prefer the character of the old 4.0 V6 (the sound and feel), my 2016 accelerates better than my 2015 MT and shifts smoothly (for a truck). My wife (a BMW gal) says she was surprised at how well it performs. This does not negate the issues that others have had. I don't know if they have worked out most of the new model year problems, if I got lucky, if my expectations are low (again, I am comparing to my 2nd gen), or whatever but this has been my experience. For those on the fence who don't know what to make of all the conflicting information, Toyota has a brand new revolutionary program that allows you to actually drive one to test it out before you buy it (#sarcasm). Find yourself a few hills and highways, stomp on the gas, and see what you think. Your own opinion is all that matters.
