I couldn't even get finished with the list of issues I wanted the service department to address at my 5k before they stopped me and told me my truck wasn't broken in yet and not to worry, tacomas are bullet proof.

So here I sit with the same problems 5k later hoping dealer #2 will look at the truck. So far the warranty has been great for a free bottle of water and a granola bar.

Toyota lives heavily on their past reliabilty right now. I also seem to see a lot of people say "Ive never had an issue with Toyota, only had to do oil changes" and come to find out they trade in for a new toyota every few years. Well no shit.

I've said it many times. I had an old Ford truck with 150k miles on it. For 120k miles it had less problems than my new 30k Tacoma with less than 8k miles on it. And to be honest the ford would have had zero problems had the dealer not goofed it up. But ford sucks Chevy sucks, woooooo give me the kool aid

Here you go consumer reports reliability for car brands. Toyota no 2. Chevy no. 20 !!!
Ford 17. They look worse than that on the chart. Yes they do suck.
Lexus no 1 which is toyota.

It's a reliable article. I can find a ton more just like it. Funny how some people want to read some Consumer Report articles and believe but not other CR articles.
Actually my other two Toyotas are vehicles and they're doing just great compared to Chevys and Fords I had in the past

Unfortunately Chevy and Ford never even had a so-called generation

It has been proven that Redheads are more sensitive to pain and need more anesthesia, have a higher risk of Parkinsons disease, and are more prone to skin cancer, and can't tan worth a crap. I still like redheads, and pie.

It's pretty much what they said 9 months ago.

Nah, they just catch the short YouTube version, or the free internet version and hope they will pay for the full blown version.
I say, good luck with that!

"while the truck is tough-as-nails, with peerless reliability and off-road prowess, it's rather primitive. The ride remains stiff, handling is ponderous, the cabin is loud, and the driving position is still awkwardly low. The modern connectivity features are welcome. Safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available.”

Well, I don't find mine uncomfortable at all, but I don't have the stock tires on my 4X4 SR5 DCLB. Maybe they had the SB??

But we all want and have this here..."the truck is tough-as-nails, with peerless reliability and off-road prowess"...Right??

That was my main objective, if I wanted plush as priority, I'd buy a full size truck, and if I wanted a quiet cabin, I'd buy a caddy but lucky me i test drove it and found it quiet enough for my needs.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Listen to the pro reviews and thousands of owners all say the same..."the truck is tough-as-nails, with peerless reliability and off-road prowess"
    No trolling!

    Hope that helps

The Toyota warranty has provided me with plenty of Donuts, a few gallons of coffee and kirkland brand bottled water. It has yet to result in any real long term resolutions. A TSB maybe on the horizon for the rear end issues however.

So are you saying I should opt for the 2017 TRD Sport 4x2 then?

Regardless of what they think of the 16'. CR has always been and always will be the best way to shop for a vehicle if they only thing you want is something as transportation. If a car is a dishwasher to you then CR is a great resource. Beyond that, if you're a car guy, want something different, exciting, interesting or prefer something different with soul, CR is horrible. We by that definition are car people, we define ourselves by our vehicle as evidence by being on a car forum. I honestly don't care what CR has to say, their opinion is irrelevant and has no sway on what I'll buy or define as a good vehicle.

Agreed. Not sure if it's the same people but some guys on these forums point to Consumer Reports when they say Toyota has great reliability but balk at Consumer Reports when they rate the 2016 Tacoma with a 54/100. Again not sure if it's the same people but if it is then they should get their noggin checked.
