Sand in the tank, headlights, or electrical issues, the saga continues for the 4th time? (10/9/18)

    Tahoe might not happen after chatting with the Wife, had to upgrade our daycare plus both of us had to pay registration lol. So yeah, no monies for Tahoe. I offered hollister with the baby but she just laughed at me :(

    Wow i read that entire thing and i have to say that i am happy that a fellow brother in arms was taken care of. USAA is the shiznit and i have had them for a long time for that reason. I cant believe that it cost you that much and i would be looking for a fuel door or cap lock. In that case you will not have to worry about anyone doing something to your truck. I will be looking for one and i hate fuel locks.

    Thanks brother. USAA is indeed fantastic. This is my first year in California, so I'm not overly used to people actually trying to ruins peoples things. Back in Alaska and WV you just didn't do that kind of stuff.

    Who knows. I'm not convinced it was wrong doing yet. But well never know right? Lol

    Locking cap would solve that part of the issue fairly quickly

    So I did 200 miles of back country overlanding trip. Only 20-30 Miles were paved.

    Made it back, truck did Amazing, no issues, handled all the terrain perfectly, etc..

    Brought it home, washed it with my new pressure washer (electronic, not crazy high pressure etc) I bought on my way into town...

    And the trucks throwing 8 injector circuit codes, no throttle response and it fluctuates idles and stalls.


    So we're back to square one, with the truck not being able to take a carwash. I am currently letting it dry out and will report back...

    I need to call Toyota back in regards to my transmission sticking in gear as well.

    Aww Crap!

    This was just washing the exterior? Or were you washing the engine bay also?

    I think Toyota should sort it out, but if it starts running again and you want to get a head start, you could leave it running and wash a section at a time and see when it starts acting up.

    I tell you what, I ate so much humble pie when the fuel system change-out "fixed" the truck that now I want to see heads on platters for making me think I was wrong.

    The insurance company gonna be pIssed.

    Ohhhhh SNAP. I would call your insurance company too and remind them of all the money they had to spend because someone "vandalized" your truck...only to have the issue come back.

    Yea it's not kicking the injector circuit codes anymore, but now it's got the same fuel pressure /rail codes . Itll idle, but won't sustain any throttle input.

    There's physically no way someone could put sand in my tank. I wasn't near sand, and I spent ever waking second of the last 5 days literally in my truck.

    A car wash shouldn't disable this...
