His is the only one I've found/seen so far. His build is pretty close to what I'm going for. Definitely interested in ordering the AccessRack once I start my new job. Just got my new SCS wheels in and have to order rubbers as well. Damn Tacomaworld keeps making me spend so much money.

Has anyone with an RTT had any issues with weight/fiberglass spiderwebbing? I know the right answer is using the reinforced shell.....but I'm wondering how the regular shell is holding up (because I am sure guys are using it). Just looking for some feedback on if anyone with an RTT has actually had any weight issues. Thanks

    Regular, non-reinforced shell:

I have yet to see anyone break a non-reinforced shell due to the weight of a RTT on top. The roof structure between the two models are exactly the same but the sides on the reinforced shells are stronger because people usually install the side access took boxes which need reinforcement to carry the weight. If the roof was to crack, it wouldn't make a difference if it was reinforced or not. You could always sleep with your torso over the cantilevered part so less weight is over the shell.

Thanks for the updates...I've been wondering how everyone's shells held up. Sounds like it is a non issue.

@zscott Hey Zach, trying to see if you have any Heretic light bar brackets? I have the roof rack for the Turdgen's but need to order the mounts for the heretic 40" light bar. Can that happen?

Im planning on adding a prinsu to my snug top rebel this winter. I think ill put my grand sabana tent in the middle of both racks to spread the weight.

That's a good point... Back to the drawing board I guess.. don't want to put a 200 pound tent with 300 pounds of people and a 50 pound dog on my snugtop

so literally walking around on your unreinforced topper doesn't seem to mess anything up or flex it too much?

As was mentioned to me as well...you have to remember that not all the weight will be on the shell when you're sleeping on the top. Half of the people/gear weight will be over the edge which will be held up by the ladder. As have been mentioned, if you're that concerned about it sleep the heavier part of you over the side so that the ladder takes the majority of the weight. I have the Snugtop Xtra Vision and everyone is telling me not to worry and that the shell companies rate the weight for dynamic instead of static. They can hold more static weight than dynamic. My RTT should be here in a week and I plan on putting the Prinsu rack on that shell.

Thanks man, but his truck is a double cab. I've only seen one person so far put a rtt on an access cabs roof. I'm going to get the PrinSu Design AccessRack for my truck then slap a CVT Mt. Shasta on top of there. I want to be able still carry my bikes/cayaks/ whatever else on my Leer shell plus not have to worry about reinforcing it for the weight of 2 people and the RTT. I'm going to just go with it since I know its at least been done once.
