I don't understand what kind of dirt he could have on you to get you fired? Did you already talk to HR? Do you have a lawyer?

The fact he dug through personal stuff should be enough to get this wiped clean. I mean last time I saw someone dig through someones cubical they were walked out of the building.

Everything will work out man. When all else fails, get a lawyer and file a lawsuit.

Otherwise, we will get you a new job. At 20$ a pp touch we can keep you busy for weeks.

Keep your head up. I went through a similar experience when I was gunning for management last year. Let HR know about his misconduct, dont sink to his level, and rise above the circumstance. You'll come out on top.

Bottom line is Josh has rights. One, it was an employee not a manager and HR searching his personal items. If it was something like a briefcase or bag a warrant would be needed for such a search. His HR department should have documentation available that shows this policy. Its one thing for a company to have access to email or computer, but another to have access to a locked drawer or even a bag or purse.
If this asshole violated Josh's rights then the company will be at fault. Most lawyers would back that lawsuit in a heartbeat.

Im no lawyer but a quick chat with HR would be my 1st step and second would be filing a complaint against that asshole.

    FML.

Can I take a serious guess? You had a concealed pistol in your bag and he ratted you out.

    That's my legit guess.

Pull the policy and what gives this guy the right to search you or your personal items?
