I can only speak for my own setup - I've got a Leer 100XQ.

 

Do most people remove their rear window tint when they have a shell installed?

 

Is it possible to have an increased weight rating with a Leer shell like one can do on a Snugtop with the outdoorsman package?

specifically could a 100XR get a weight rating upgrade?

 

Leer 100RCC, 450 pound dynamic weight rating. It is the main reason I chose that one.

 

Picked up my leer off craigslist yesterday. Came with carpeted headliner and thule roof rack. Can anyone offer any insight on the model i have? I looked for a tag inside but im assuming its underneath the headliner. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sending back my A.r.e cap local dealer said the color match was fine on my cap and that's how a.r.e does it. So I contacted A.r.e and they said that my color match was way off and they said take the cap back with my gas cap and make it right. Jacksonville North Carolina... Trucker toy store ; Don't go there anyone save yourself time. Cause they tried to avoid me before I had a.r.e contact them. Now they are being all nice saying will take care of you... Well I'm pretty sure the bullshit just told me yesterday saying there is nothing you could do. I hate lazy ass people.

 

Picked up this ARE Z series locally on Craigslist today. 8 months old, color matched and with Yakima rack system.

question for the experts: right now the cap just sits on the plastic trim without any weatherstripping. What did you use to water seal the cap to the bed? Especially in the front of the bed? (since the gap is bigger in the front)

I have seen the 2nd one listed used for the front, it was stacked several layers.

 

I just picked up a habitat from adventure trailers and I think it qualifies as a shell

 

I've never seen one that folds out to the back of the truck. That's a great idea to provide lots of shade over the tailgate.

 

Just take it to your local dealer and have them do it for you.
