I was wondering how to remove the front bumper lower valence panel ? I scuffed mine up pretty bad and am going to replace it. Plus, I am not going to drill in the new one (have a drill less license plate set up in mind). Any online instructions or guides ?

    Thanks !

You will need to remove the bumper to take it off. It has numerous tabs and also has a sliding tab on each side that you need to take off. I don't have no pix or write up for this because the bumper I worked on was already off the truck...

Dam, it requires the removal of the entire front bumper ?!

It would be easier that way. You might be able to remove the front grill and reach way down in the bumper and try it that way.

Got this from another thread. Looks like you don't have to remove the bumper. Once you follow the steps it will make more sense to you...

Can't remember. I used the search function with keywords "bumper removal" and only selected the 3rd Gen forums to be searched...

Any tips/tricks on removing the front valence trim piece? I removed the two blue plastic clips inside the bumper but couldn't get the other clips out from the inside. I watched Taco Bandit's video on Youtube but it seems that he just ended up cutting some of the plastic clips to get it out.

It’s been almost a year since I did this, but I remember the blue clips were the most troublesome for me. I ended up just cutting around them since I was replacing the valance with a new one. I can’t remember exactly how the other clips come off but I didn’t do anything clever or complex to remove them. Do you just push up or down a bit to loosen so they can slide out? I wish I had a better memory. Good luck.
