A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
I will be running Pittbull Rockstars like the ones pictured below for what ever the offroad throws at me.20160629_095423.jpg These are probably too aggressive for your needs, but they make a more road friendly version called a PBXT which is an AT. Nitros have issues, I would stay away from them. Their failure rate is about 50% when combined with a heavy truck or a lot of heavy wheeling and we don't install them in my shop anymore. I think it's all in their heat treating process. Definitely worse than OE Toyota gears.

From what I've found out, Mac McMillan, the owner, used to work for Superior gear (which I've had good luck with). He basically sources these gears from the same factory in Korea that makes the Yukon gears(formerly Genuine Gear). He warranties them for 2 years and they come with Timken bearings and US SEAL seals. I'm not sure why he doesn't use Timken or National seals as they are better and made here, as US SEALS are made in China. The old Genuine Gear company had fairly high failure rates also, leading them into bankruptcy, and Yukon was invented to buy them out of their tooling and debt. Obviously they changed the name, but then later restored the Genuine Gear name under the G2 name, which many people buy through 4Wheel Parts Wholesale and their commercial division called TransAmerican Wholesale.

Long story short, I'd be reluctant to try them and certainly not on a customer's vehicle unless they brought me the part, therefore I can't stand behind any labor or parts warranties. I don't normally mind trying out a new company, particularly if the reviews are sound and the warranty is good, but doing ring & pinion setups is quite labor intensive, particularly the front on a Toyota, so when you do have failure, you're talking about a lot of tear down and re-setup, which is very costly and someone has to pay for the time. In @Predator Strikeforce case, he can probably find someone to donate the time and possibly the parts, so it has potential, but in the back of your mind, you're always wondering if that major component will fail and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I don't want to be stranded somewhere either! Sounds like you know what you're talking about. I'll wait for a reputable company to sell something solid. Gears is not an area I want to skimp...

Went to Superior to get a sack of roasted green chile today. After 4 weeks of ownership I finally got to take my truck off-road.

Nice, I have been meaning to get over that way, but 60 has been tore up for so long. There are some good trails out out on San Carlos past Globe as well.
