    Glad I found this thread! Some great stories in here. The extent of my hi-lift usage is getting it and testing it in the parking lot so I know how to use it. I started jacking up off my sliders and they moved a bit, so I got too scared to lift the whole thing and put it back down :spy:

    Generally speaking, some deflection is normal. Remember to jack with the door open, when lifting from slider. :)

    That's what I've heard. It's not like the sliders are going to shear the 13 bolts out simultaneously from the jack so I'm not too sure what I'm scared of.

I used my Hi Lift and it didn't work real well, what I needed was a chain saw... lol I ended up denting my tailgate and leaving a small dent on the side of my truck. The problem wasn't the Hi Lift, it was the position the truck was in. Finally got out after about an hour of digging and chopping with my axe. Fucked my bedside pretty good and bent my steel bumper. Gave me an excuse to get a High Clearance though!

    Yep, I tried to turn around at a dead end, backed over the tree, my bumper cleared it, then my passenger rear tire dropped in a hole and crunched the huge oak log up into the bed side. What you can't see is a huge knot, stuck perfectly in the pocket behind the corner of the bumper. Thats what I was stuck on. Not to mention my slider sitting on a rotted log running under the truck.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention that my Hi-Lift did lift the truck enough to put a couple pieces of wood under one rear tire, but not enough to make a huge difference.

    Very useful thread! But we can also learn from other people's mistakes.
