Hey everybody, so I've been looking to get some tires. The place I'm planning on getting them has me narrowed down to the BFG KO2 or the General Grabber A2. Im planning on getting 285/75/15. I would like something that would hold up in the snow and also road driving. I've heard great things about both as well as bad... Also something not too loud. Anybody on here have any insight or advice? Thanks!

Not planning on doing much..Mostly road and highway driving. Might go off road every once in a while and if i do it will more than likely be in the winter.

I considered the AT2 myself and heard they last good and can have studs put in to make the snow traction better. They are pretty much a clone of the BFG KO the predecessor of the KO2. Which for me meant they had a more flimsy sidewall than the KO2 so with the rocks I have off-road sometimes that would be bad. So in your situation I would get the AT2 as they are cheaper if you don't off-road much.

Is there a difference in how long they will last?

I heard stories of both lasting 50-60 thousand miles if taken care of.

+1 for the AT2s. Another perk is the AT2 are load D and the KO2 are load E (I think. Might want to double check).

Just means they'll be a little lighter, ride a little better and get slightly better mpg.

I use to off road with my AT2s a good bit and never once failed me on the trail.

How do those compare to the KO2's? From your build looks like you used to have them. Also are the grabbers the tires you have on in your most recent picture?

I've never had the KO2s but yes the Grabbers are my current tire and I have no complaints about them at all. Have around 35k on them with tons of tread left.

I just wanted to play it safe. Like I said here is the colorado, Utah and southern Idaho area the rocks can be sharp. So I wanted a stronger although heavier tire.

Yeah I've played around in the Ozarks in Arkansas a few times and haven't had any problems.

The only other downfall is how the KO2's look a little more aggressive... Would you say the grabbers still make the truck look good or would you appreciate some more tread on the side wall to make it look more aggressive

The tires in your very top picture of your build that says as of 8/1 look really aggressive.

The sidewall tread isn't too bad in person in the AT2s. I did see a set of KO2s today that looked pretty sweet. But if your going function over style the AT2s pretty much have the same tread but are easier on your wallet. That why I got them in a 315/70/17 du to the fact I still had a 35" tire and it did exceptionally well in snow and wet conditions as well as off-road.

Ok. With a 2.5 inch lift and spidertrax spacers do you think i will have a problem fitting the 285/75/16?
