    Yes, same with the gas tank skid plate. The term skid plate is misleading however. They are way too weak to skid on. Splash plates is what they are

    You can actually skid on them, just not more than a couple of times. They're stronger than they look. I've lived with factory skids for years. Just heat them up and beat them back into shape from time to time.
