I dont think any fire together. Pretty sure the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

 

Installed this shell I got for FREE on Craigslist.

 

Hm, ok I guess I read wrong. I assume I should start with my vacuum leak and go from there, if not should I switch coils to see if that's the issue?

 

Have you checked spark plugs? I thought a vacuum leak would cause a rich air/fuel ratio not a lean one like the po171 code says.

 

Well there's a definite hiss when I get on the throttle. And I'm on 93 w/ a 7th injector so it shouldn't be lean. But no I haven't checked them, they're new ik22s.

 

A vacuum leak would cause a lean condition. There is additional air entering the combustion chamber that has not been accounted for by the MAF. In other words, the vacuum leak is providing an avenue through which extra air enters ( air that the computer is not "seeing" and using to adjust the amount of fuel because it bypassed the mass air flow sensor).

 

It's a wasted spark ignition system, they do fire together but it fires on the exhaust stroke when the other is firing.

Did this today, thought I'd get some rice planted in the paddy. Have an LCE header on the way cause mine is leaking like garbage.

Got some new rubber, Yokohama Geolander G015! I don't hear many people talking about the Geos, but I had the older version (Geolander AT/S) a few years back on a Pathfinder & really liked them, so I figured I'd give the new version a try on my Taco. They ride nice & (surprisingly) quiet, look pretty aggressive, & are rated for 55k miles...I can't comment on off roading performance, yet.
I also dipped the wheels after the new tires were on!

 

What size? Any rub? @Yoda2002

 

hey guys, i found i needed a new carrier bearing, but found a guy local selling a complete rebalanced drive shaft with a newish bearing for $200 bucks, would this be worth buying and installing, then just rebuild my old shaft for a spare?
