Lol touché. It's my daily driver so I need something that performs well on asphalt but is capable when I want to play. I just wish I knew of more places to OR close to me.

The ST Maxx or the Grapplers, good combination of a mud terrain and all terrain. Same situation I'm in trying to find something for my daily driver that can hang on the trails.

I think any tire in the hybrid category will do just fine. I like these two the best but I'm leaning towards the Cooper's right now.

I just found this online and now I am totally sold. Exact setup I'm going with.

    I bought Nitto Terra Grapplers, 265/70/r17's, load C (6ply) 65,000 mile warranty.....Discount tire.
Did a bunch of research, even asked two different strangers, two different trucks that had the Nittos...I saw in a mall parking lot.....went up (at distance) and asked them.
For them, two things stood out, quietness and wear resistance.
I have 1,000 miles on mine.
Driven in water (major rain here a few times, Texas gulf coast), mud (not anything hard core) and lots of deep sand.....performed great!
Very little tire noise, can only hear if music is off.
Bigger tire, more weight, more air resistance etc, definetly lost on average 2 mpg.
I did install a aFe cold air intake last week and gained back 1 mpg.
I'm doing a trip down to South Padre, 375 miles one way this weekend so will see if mileage is better etc.
Other than that....love them so far.

I switched to the stt pro because I push my truck harder than any other 3rd gen owner I've seen so far. I needed a tire with more sidewall bite and better suited for soupy clay based mud.

I'm a bit biased, I've always ran coopers on all of my trucks. No experience with nitto although I hear good things about them. I choose the st maxx because it's one of the few that offer a 255 tire size. image.jpg

Same color as my truck and same rims I plan on going with. It's good to see that combo, looks really good but the 255s are a bit too skinny in my opinion. How do you like the performance off road?

Do you have a lift, and if so how much. Any rubbing or do any cutting?

I kinda like that look. Fills out the wheel well more. I hate the big gap some rigs have.

I have toyo mt. I like the tire with the exception of the e rating. I am wondering why people run their mud grips all year long. I dont run mine until winter time. I dont have to put up with noise of a mud grip tire, and better gas milage. Maybe I dont off road as much of a lot of you. I run my oem tires until deer season arrives and pull them off as deer season closes.

Why don't you like the E load? Weight issues?

I haven't gone down anything serious of late been waiting on my sliders then I'll feel more comfortable going back out. Probably will hit up Bridgeport again will be a night and day comparison test against the goodyears, which actually did great. image.jpg

Yes 3' full OME suspension lift. Running LR SPC UCA's, 888 springs, dakars, and nitrocharger shocks. Yes the front rubbs when flex at full lock even with the great offset the Trd wheels provide. CMC coming soon got my BAMF plates ordered just waiting for them to come in.

I'd pick grapplers bsed on being a load C alone. E is a bit overkill, plus the maxx are heavy because of the beefy sidewall. In 285/75/16 they're 63lbs a pop

Damn it......Thought I wanted the KO2's, now I can't decide, shit! The Ridge Grappler looks badass, but so does the Cooper. I've had several coworkers say nothing but good things about the Nittos too. I have FN f/x Pro wheels coming in next week and the truck should be arriving end of next week also. DAMN IT...........

I could care less about weight when it comes to durability.
