I had a similar experience travelling about that speed, traffic ahead was coming to a stop and I was distracted for a split second, never pushed on a brake pedal so hard, those ABS brakes stopped the truck without skidding and in a very short distance, without ABS I would have totalled my truck. Thankfully the wife screamed before impact resulting in rapid right leg movement to the brake pedal. ABS is amazing.

 

Its 1G3 touch up paint paint from the dealership. I sanded and hand brushed the OEM emblem. (my emblem was already kinda messed up so I experimented with it)

I haven't been able to hit the brakes hard enough to engage ABS yet. And I've stopped HARD. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

 

Honestly when it happens you'll not be so interested in seeing how it does at the moment, but you'll be glad it's working

 

Probably true, but I'll post-analyze it like I do everything. Stupid engineer brain. Damn thing never turns off.

But I've done a couple of sudden 85-0's while driving a 'tad' too close to the car in front of me (3ft bumper-to-bumper spacing is plenty, right?). I feel bad for y'all to have to stop harder than that. But I'm glad to hear that the truck can do it if asked to do so.

 

Hi Everyone! Last night my arm rest cover arrived! Its not for my pets but its for me! My last ride before the Taco was a 2000 Ford Ranger and my arm rest got really soiled so I really want to keep my arm rest cleaner this time around!

What radar detector do you run in your taco?

 

Have you gone out to a big, open parking lot and picked up a bit of speed (while going straight) and then STOOD on the brake pedal? I mean foot to the floor hold it there and feel the ABS? IMO, this should be done as part of every new vehicle "familiarization" because the last thing you want is to not know how to do that and what it feels like in a real event.

 

Nope.

I don't think it matters all that much, really. For all cars (that have ABS), procedure is same. Hold steering wheel in neutral position. push the brake pedal as hard as you can. relax your neck and back, if possible.

Yeah it's a great intake but when floored it is louder than my 01 prelude and 97 sc300 turbo. It's scared the crap out of an old guy driving in his convertible today. Also took the truck out to the spillway today for some off road fun. Perfect photo op outside one of my work offices

 

So I had my truck at the stealership for few days for my 5K service, and I got a call from my service writer saying that due to the parasitic draw from aftermarket accessories I have ( all I have is @mattgecko 's underhood and bed lights btw), the battery seems to run down, and to inspect it they want $310. I was speechless. Man. First of all,.. I don't think those LED lights could have any current draw, if any it's wayy too negligible, but $310 to inspect the problem? Just Wow! I probably won't take my truck to this dealership again for my next service,.. I dunno. I bought it from them, and checked the reviews online before going there. Brand new truck with less than 3 months old, and battery dies when left out for two days. What's even more surprising is, why can't they just disconnect the wire that I've connected to the battery's terminal and then check if there's a parasitic current draw?, they need $310 bucks to just remove a wire?? Just wow! I can't believe they'd sink to such low standards.
